How To Fix The Samsung Galaxy A10e Black Screen of Death Issue

The Black Screen of Death is a term given to a device whose screen does not display anything at all. The phone might still be getting notifications when this issue occurs or it might not be working at all. While there’s a big possibility that this is caused by a faulty hardware component there’s also a chance that this could just be caused by a software glitch. What we will be doing right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix the problem.

Make sure the phone is fully charged

The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a drained battery. You will need to charge the phone by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in it.
  • Fully charge the phone with a charging cord and wall charger that have been tested to work on another device.
  • If the phone does not charge with a wall charger then try charging the device from a computer USB port.

Once the battery is fully charged check if the Samsung Galaxy A10e Black Screen of Death issue still occurs.

Perform a soft reset

One of the first things you will need to do is to refresh the phone software by doing a soft reset. This will usually remove any corrupt temporary data in the device which could be causing the problem.

  • Press and hold the Power and Volume down key for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait as the device restarts.

Start the phone in Safe Mode

There are instances when an app you downloaded from the Google Play Store can cause this particular issue. To check if this is the case, you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key past the screen with the device name.
  • When ‘SAMSUNG’ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  • Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode’.

If the issue does not occur in this mode it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Wipe the cache partition

There are instances when a corrupted system cached data can cause this problem. It’s therefore a good idea to delete this data as the phone will just rebuild this data when it starts again.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key
  • When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘yes’ and press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

  • With no apps installed in the phone, try to check if the issue still occurs.
