How to use Samsung Galaxy Buds Ambient Sound Mode | easy steps to set it up

If you haven’t noticed, it’s really hard to hear outside noise when you’re using the two Galaxy earbuds. While this may provide its own benefits, it can also have its risks, especially if you are on the go or when walking outside and you don’t know what’s going on. In order to keep using your Galaxy Buds while at the same providing situational awareness of your surroundings, Samsung added a feature called Ambient Sound Mode. This allows you to hear noise from your environment, reducing the chances of putting you in a dangerous situation, while still enjoying your favorite song.

Galaxy Buds Ambient Sound Mode and how to use it

If you enable Ambient Sound Mode, your Galaxy Buds allows noise from the outside to come in so you know the situation around your even when you’re listening to your song or audio file. This is particularly helpful when outside on the street, or when trying to use your Galaxy Buds in a busy location.

In order to turn on Ambient Sound Mode, these are the steps to do:

  1. Be sure that your Galaxy Buds is connected to your Samsung phone.
  2. Open the Galaxy Wearable app by swipe up or down on the Home screen to access the Apps screen. Tap the Samsung folder, and then touch Galaxy Wearable app. 
  3. Plug in both earbuds in your ears.
  4. Tap Ambient sound.
  5. Turn on Ambient sound mode by moving the slider to the right.
  6. Adjust volume of Ambient sound as necessary. 
  7. If you want to allow voices to be distinguished more clearly, turn on Voice focus.

NOTE:

You can easily turn on or off Ambient sound using your Samsung phone. This feature is not available for non-Samsung phones though. If you’re using an older Samsung phone or tablet, be sure that you install Galaxy Wearable (Samsung Gear) from the Play Store.

If you want to make or receive a call, Ambing sound mode will automatically turn off. This feature returns to its previous state after the call.

If you hear feedback when trying to adjust the volume or touching the microphone of your Galaxy Buds, don’t worry as that’s normal. Ambient sound mode will continue to work and external sound will continue to flow inside.
