How to unfreeze an unresponsive Galaxy Note10+ | ways to soft reset your Note10

If you want to unfreeze an unresponsive Galaxy Note10+ but don’t know how, there are few ways that you can do. Follow the steps for each of the methods below.

Unfreeze unresponsive Galaxy Note10+ method 1

This is the normal way of restarting a working Galaxy Note10+. Be sure to try this one first before attempting the two other methods below. To normally restart your unresponsive Galaxy Note10+:

  1. Press and hold the Power button.
  2. Once the Power menu launches, select Restart.
  3. Tap Restart to confirm.

Unfreeze unresponsive Galaxy Note10+ method 2

The other way to unfreeze an unresponsive Galaxy Note10+ is to do a certain hardware button combination. Unlike the Galaxy S10 series, your Note10+ has no dedicated Bixby button so there’s a different way to perform soft reset. Below are the steps to turn off your Note10 using hardware buttons:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down and Bixby/Power buttons for about 10 seconds.
  2. Once the Power menu shows up, release both Volume Down and Bixby/Power buttons.
  3. Tap Power off.

This simulates the effect of having disconnected the battery from the device. If this works, this should unfreeze the device.

Unfreeze unresponsive Galaxy Note10+ method 3

This third method is basically the same as the second method. The only difference is that there’s a delay in pressing the Bixby/Power button. Here’s how it goes:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button first and don’t release it.
  2. While holding it down, press and hold the Bixby/Power key.
  3. Keep both buttons held down for 10 seconds or more.
  4. Once the Power menu shows up, release both Volume Down and Bixby/Power buttons.
  5. Tap Power off.

IMPORTANT TIP: Rebooting your device regularly at least once every week can be beneficial. If you tend to forget things, we suggest that you configure your phone to reboot on its own. You can schedule it to do this task by doing these steps:

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap Device Care.
  3. Tap the 3-dot at the top.
  4. Select Auto restart.
  5. Enable Auto restart by moving the slider to the right.
  6. Select your schedule when Auto restart happens.
