It means that if they have issues, those problems are probably limited only to concerned apps. Needless to say, it’s very easy to fix them but then again, we have to do something to fix the problem the right way so that you could continue using the app without having greeted by the same problem over and over. In this case, we’re dealing with the Instagram app that keeps crashing. Regardless whether it force closes on its own or shows up the “Unfortunately, Instagram has stopped” error, the following solution should be able to fix it.

First Solution: Try to restart your Galaxy S8

Before anything else, you should try rebooting your phone because there’s always a chance that this problem is due to a minor glitch in the system or hardware. It’s something that can easily be fixed by a reboot as it refreshes your phone’s memory as well as close all applications and services running the background not to mention it would also reloads all core functions and features.

Another thing you should try is the forced restart, which basically has the same benefits as with the normal reboot only that it’s more thorough as it simulates battery disconnect. Second Solution: Reset Instagram

Another possibility why an app crashes is when there are caches or files that became corrupt for some reason. That’s the reason why you need to reset Instagram to delete its old caches and data files.

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings > Apps.
  3. Tap App Manager.
  4. Locate then tap Instagram.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Tap CLEAR CACHE.
  7. Tap Cached data.
  8. Tap CLEAR.

This method is effective for both force close issue as well as the “Unfortunately, Instagram has stopped” error. So, after doing the procedure, open Instagram to find out if it still crashes. Third Solution: Uninstall Instagram and reinstall it

Follow these steps to uninstall Instagram from you Galaxy S8:

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
  2. Tap Play Store.
  3. Type ‘instagram’ in the search box.
  4. Select Instagram then tap Install.
  5. To continue, review the required app permissions then tap Accept.
