Troubleshooting Galaxy A10 with ‘Facebook keeps stopping’ error

Most of the time, when this kind of error shows, the problem could only be due to a minor firmware issue or even a glitch. Therefore, we’ll start our troubleshooting by ruling out such possibility. With that said, here’s what you need to do to try and fix ‘Facebook keeps stopping’ error on your Galaxy A10…

First solution: Perform the Forced Restart

Minor firmware issues may lead to app crashes and most of the time, it’s the app you often use that starts to keep on crashing. So, before doing anything else, make sure to perform the forced restart to refresh your phone’s memory as well as reload all apps and services. This is how it’s done:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A10 logo shows on the screen.

When the phone has finished the restart, open the app to see if the ‘Facebook keeps stopping’ error still pops up. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Clear cache to fix ‘Facebook keeps stopping’ error

The system creates a cache for every application to make them run smoothly after the first use. While the cache is a small, temporary file, it’s also very important when it comes to their stability. So, when the cache gets corrupted or obsolete, app crashes may occur. To rule this possibility out, follow these steps:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and then tap Apps.
  4. Find and tap Facebook.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Touch Clear cache.

If the ‘Facebook keeps stopping’ error continues to bug you after this, then try the next solution.

Third solution: Reset Facebook

When it comes to applications, a reset means to delete their data files and often contain the user’s preferences and settings. When deleted, the app will be reset back to its default settings and configuration. If this is just a problem with the app, then this procedure should be able to fix it. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and then tap Apps.
  4. Find and tap Facebook.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Touch Clear data.
  7. Tap OK to confirm.
  8. Restart your phone to release some RAM and refresh the memory.

After the reboot, try to see if the ‘Facebook keeps stopping’ error still shows up when you open the app. If it does, then move on to the next solution.

Fourth solution: Wipe cache partition

Aside from app caches, the system also creates its own cache. This, too, helps make the phone run smoothly after the first boot. When corrupted, you may encounter performance issues with your device including app crashes. Rule this possibility out by doing this:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

When the phone has finished the restart, open the app to see if the ‘Facebook keeps stopping’ error shows. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Fifth solution: Backup files and reset your phone

After deleting the system cache and the error continues to show, then it’s time to reset your phone. This is just a minor problem and if the firmware hasn’t been modified in any way, you should be able to fix this problem by doing the reset. However, make sure to create a copy of your important files and data as they will be deleted. After that, remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out, and then follow these steps to do the Master Reset:

  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
