I dropped my phone and it shattered a small area on the bottom right side of the phone. The phone was still functional after. I made calls and texted. Screen worked all buttons and functions worked. Then it died and the screen is now black and unresponsive after I charged it. I can turn it on and I can see that I have notifications of green blue and red lights but that is all. The screen stays black and no calls came through either. Obviously some sort of messaging came through if I have a green light notification.
Solution: Based on the description of the problem, hardware failure is the most likely reason why the screen may have stopped responding. It may had been physically impacted badly causing it to stop working. To check if that’s the case, you can try to do some indirect troubleshooting steps. Keep in mind that if there’s indeed hardware failure in your case, the suggestions below may be futile as they are meant to check only for possible software issues.
Force reboot your LG G7 ThinQ
Whether your LG G7 ThinQ is merely acting funny, slow, or has become totally unresponsive, it’s important that you perform a simple yet often effective troubleshooting step: forced reboot. This won’t delete any personal data so it can be done safely. Forced reboot is the equivalent of physically removing the battery. While you can’t disconnect the battery from your LG G7 ThinQ, you can simulate its effects by doing a forced reboot. To do that, simply press and hold the Power and Volume down key for 8 seconds. This will force the device to shut down as if the battery has been disconnected, and then turn back on, as if you’ve inserted the battery again.
Charge using another set of accessories
If you’ve been using an old USB cable, get a new one and see if that will help. USB cables go bad overtime, especially if you don’t take care of them. The tiny wires inside can break easily. The more of these wires are broken, the less the carrying capacity of the said cable when charging.
