I personally encountered this error before so I know a couple of things that could make it crash. First, the Email has stopped error may pop up if it took a long time for the app to connect with the server. First solution: Force restart your phone to fix Email has stopped error

  1. Press and hold the volume down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding the volume button, press and hold the power key as well.

To rule it out, follow these steps:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap Apps.
  4. Find and tap Email.
  5. Touch Storage.
  6. Tap Clear cache.

After doing this procedure, open Email to know if the Email has stopped error would still show up and if it still does, move on to the next procedure.

Third solution: Clear data of Email app

Clearing the data of the app will bring it back to its default settings, remove your account as well as delete all your emails. So, you really have to to be careful when doing this as you may lose some important messages. If you can create a backup of your important emails, that would be better. If not, then you have to ask the administrator of your account (especially if you’re using a company email) as they often have backups.

Fourth solution: Delete the system cache

Aside from the individual app cache, the system also creates its own cache and if it gets corrupted, it may also lead to app crashes and other performance issues. It is recommended to delete the system cache from time to time so that it will be replaced with a new one. And here’s how you do that:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy S10+ logo shows, release all buttons.
  4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  5. Press Power key to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  8. Press the Power key to restart the device.

After this, open Email to see if the Email has stopped error is fixed. If it still shows up, however, then you have no other choice but to reset your phone.

Fifth solution: Backup your files and reset your phone

After doing the procedures above and the Email app still keeps on crashing, then you have to do the master reset as the problem could already be with the firmware considering the fact that Email is a pre-installed app. But before the reset, make sure to backup your important files and data and then remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out. After that, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy S10+ logo shows, release all buttons.
  4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  5. Press Power button to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes.
  7. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  8. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.
