ThreeUK Smart Silver

Coming up first on our countdown is the ThreeUK Smart Silver SIM card. This is one of the best prepaid choices that you can pick up today.

It's pretty much a data-only SIM card, giving you 5GB of data that you can use while in Macau. That said, you can receive incoming calls and texts, but you can't respond -- i.e. no outgoing actions.

Activation is easy -- just set the SIM card in your phone tray, and it immediately activates with ThreeUK's network. Keep in mind that this SIM will only work for 30 days upon activation, whether you use that data up or not.

And, while there is 5GB of data here, once you use it up, you cannot refill it. You'll have to get a new card if you want to continue use in Macau.

Asia-Pacific Plus

We are really big fans of the Asia-Pacific Plus SIM card because it brings you Unlimited data. It actually has 4.5GB of high speed data that you can use, and once that's all gone, it drops you down to just 128Kbps in speed.

There's no activation required with this one -- just insert int your SIM card tray and you're ready to roll. It, however, only works for 15 days, which starts right after your insert it.

It is a Tri-Cut SIM, which means that you can use use this in Standard, Micro, and Nano SIM trays. That said, it works with virtually all phones out there, old and new.

It will work in a few other countries within the Asia region as well, which is helpful in the event that your trip spans more than just the Macau region.

KeepGo Global

The KeepGo Global is another excellent SIM card for Macau, though we think it's a little pricier than the others, at least as far as the data breakdown goes.

With your purchase you get 1GB of data credit to use, but once you use that up, you have to pay per 1GB used. Each 1GB is an additional $10, so you can end up racking up quite a bill.

Activation is slightly more complicated than the other two. You just slide the SIM card into your phone or tablet, and then change the APN settings. User instructions are included, so you can start browsing in just a couple of minutes.

Now, this one does come with a set of SIM card adapter, so you can use this with Unlocked GSM phones old and new. You'll have no issue using it with your iPhone, or even most of the latest Samsung and LG flagships.

GMYLE

Last up on our countdown, but certainly not least, we have the GMYLE SIM card. It works in Macau, as well as 13 other Asia-based regions. It gives you 5GB of data to use while on your trip, but only lasts 14 days, which starts when you insert the SIM card into your smartphone.

One of the cool things about the GMYLE is that, once you use up your 5GB of data, you can call in and refill it. Most cards, unfortunately, don't offer you the ability to refill, which puts the GMYLE in a very unique position.

Just like some of the others, this is a Tri-Cut SIM card, so it works with unlocked GSM phones old and new.
