A5 Disconnects From Wi-Fi

Problem: I have problems with the Wifi connection . I have a Galaxy A5 2016 and It disconnects wifi by itself. As soon as I reconnect it id does it again . I tried everything I read on forums. Factory reset modem etc . IT ALL STARTED WHEN I DID THE FIRST SOFTWARE UPGRADE. Before doing that it was ok. I tried to do a downgrade but it won’t allow it.

Solution: Have you tried checking if the problem occurs when the phone is connected to different Wi-Fi networks? If it only occurs in only one particular Wi-Fi network then the router could be causing the problem.

In case the issue occurs even if you try to connect the phone to different Wi-Fi networks then the best thing to do right now since you have already performed a factory reset is to flash the phone with its previous firmware version. You can download this firmware file from the Sammobile website . The instructions on how to flash your phone are also provided in that website.

In case the issue persists even if you have already downgraded the software version of the phone then this could already be a hardware issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Not Connecting To Wi-Fi

Problem: I have been using Samsung galaxy A5 (SM-A510FD) for nearly 10 months and it suddenly stopped connecting to wi-fi. I have done all steps to clean up phone ( including a hard reset) but still it cannot connect to any wi-fi. It is a decent phone but we do not know why this happens such early.

Solution: Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network. This way you will be able to verify if the problem is caused by the router your phone is connecting to. If the issue still occurs even when you try to connect your phone to a different network then this might already be a hardware related issue. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Moisture In Port Error

Problem: Phone was charging normally and then ‘moisture in port’ message was shown. I restarted the phone but it did not turn back on. Tried to reboot by holding volume down and power buttons to no avail. I’ve only had this phone for a couple of weeks.

Solution: If the phone does not turn on after the moisture in port error occurred then it’s likely that some moisture might have entered the phone. To fix this problem you should try placing the phone in a bag of rice first for at least 48 hours. Once this is done clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then let the phone charge for at least 20 minutes. Turn on the phone. If it still does not turn on then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 No Sim Card Error

Problem: hi there i seen your website and thought i would give you a message i bought a samsung a5 2016 off someone it’s on vodafone as i done an imei check or whatever is called an its on vodafone it’s not black listed not on contract but when i put a sim in it is says no sim card i have tried loads of sims i tried a 02 sim card and it said i needed a unlock code i got one and it didn’t help i just don’t know what to do 🙁 i have tried airplane mode hard reset i was thinking on rooting and trying to add 2 files to sort it out as seen on youtube but not sure PLEASE HELP thanks.

Solution: If this is a Vodafone phone the it is most likely locked to that network. If you would like to use this on another network then you will need to have the phone unlocked first. If the phone is already unlocked but then you are getting a No Sim Card error then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the SIM card slot of the phone with a can of compressed air.
  • Try inserting a different SIM card in the phone. First make sure to check if this card is working in another phone.

If the issue persists then this might already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Not Receiving Or Making Calls

Problem: hi, thank you for taking my questions. I have a Samsung A5 and have issues with making, receiving calls in the past 3 weeks. it started with unable to access my vm message for a day or two. it changed quickly to the other problems. the callers cannot hear me while i answer the phone and the receivers can not hear me while i call out. i shutdown the system to restart. i also deleted all my anti virus program since that might cause an issue suggested by some website. nothing worked at this point. my phone can not receive or make calls. by the way, all my emails and texting are working fine so far. please help. thank you for your time.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to remove the SIM card from your phone then insert it in another phone. Check if you are able to make or receive calls with this other phone. If you are not able to then this might be a SIM card or account related issue. If this is the case then you will need to contact your carrier regarding this matter.

In case you are able to make and receive calls when the SIM card is on another phone then you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete insert the SIM back to your phone then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then this might already be a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Not Getting Software Update

Problem: Hi! We bought my Samsung A5 awhile back from , and it won’t update to the latest version . It tells me it’s up to date. The latest version I have is Lollipop I’ve tried Smart Switch for my Windows laptop (downloading it onto my laptop didn’t work. I’ve called Samsung, Windows, and so on. I think I might need a new laptop), but, as you can see in the parenthesis, it didn’t work. What other solutions can you come up with? (Please answer in simple terms. I don’t know what some things mean.)

Solution: There are several reasons why your phone is not getting a software update.

  • Your phone could be rooted
  • Your phone might be running on a custom software
  • You have an unlocked phone and it is not running on its original network.

To update your phone software try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check for the update manually. If the phone does not update then you should consider manually flashing the update to your phone. You can download the latest firmware update for your device from the Sammobile website. This is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

  1. All the options you are giving have been tried. A colleague of mine has the same problem as mine. Try googling. Tonnes of the same problem with a million suggestion on solutions but nothing works. Mine is a Samsung A7 2016
