How to fix Samsung Galaxy S10e that keeps freezing

In troubleshooting your phone that has some performance issues, you need to be thorough so that you can easily and accurately determine the cause. That’s what we need to do in this post. First solution: Restart your phone in Safe mode

Doing this will immediately isolate the problem and while running the phone in safe mode won’t fix the problem, it will tell you immediately if its caused by some apps. There are applications that are CPU- and graphics-intensive and they’re pretty much capable of making your phone freeze from time to time. That’s the reason you have to observe your phone in safe mode because in this environment, all third-party apps are temporarily disabled. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Press and hold the power key until power options show.
  2. Touch and hold the Power off option until Safe mode shows.
  3. Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your phone.

If the freezes don’t occur while your S10e is in safe mode, then don’t worry too much because it’s clear enough that one or some of the apps you downloaded and installed is causing the problem. Don’t worry as none of your files will be deleted if you did this and it could be the solution you’re looking for. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset settings.
  3. Tap RESET SETTINGS.
  4. If you have set up a PIN, enter it.
  5. Tap RESET SETTINGS.
  6. The device will restart to perform the reset of settings.

After this, try to see if your phone still keeps freezing and if it does, then it’s time to troubleshoot the firmware itself.

Third solution: Delete the system cache

Deleting the system cache is sometimes the best way to fix performance issues because there are times when the cache gets corrupted and when it happens, a lot of issues may occur including freezes and lags. It is recommended to delete the cache from time to time to make sure those files are new. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy S10e logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your phone will continue to boot up into the recovery mode, when you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, you’re ready to proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

After doing this and your Galaxy S10e still keeps freezing, move on to the next solution.

Fourth solution: Master reset your phone

A reset will fix almost all firmware issues including freezes, lags and other problems. Before the reset make sure that you make a backup of all important files and data. After that remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out of your phone. Once everything is in order, follow these steps…

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy S10e logo shows, release all keys.
  4. Your phone will

  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
