Luckily, there’s an easy way to add storage on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and that’s with a microSD memory card. You can easily add hundreds of gigabytes of storage to your phone for just a couple of bucks, depending on the brand and card size that you go for.

Not sure what the best is to use? We’ve done the research for you, and have compiled five of the best options for you. So without further ado, here they are:

SanDisk Extreme PRO V30

First up, we’re looking at the SanDisk Extreme PRO V30. This one is an excellent choice, offering folks a whole 64GB of storage. This gives you plenty of extra space to house a photo and video library, or maybe to mesh into your storage for use with apps and games.

If you’re more focused on filming purposes, there’s some good news for you with the SanDisk Pro V30 — it’s actually rated for shooting 4K video, so it’ll work flawlessly with most modern smartphones as well as regular cameras. Speeds are good at 90MB per second with sequential write speeds and 100MB per second with read speeds. With water proofing, shock resistance and temperature resistance, you don’t ever have to worry about this card going bad.

SanDisk Extreme PLUS U3

The SanDisk Extreme Plus U3 is another excellent choice, coming with some similarities from the Extreme PRO; however, this microSD card in particular was built for extreme conditions — you don’t have to worry about this one having trouble in high-heat areas, and even around water! If you drop your phone in a sink or in water somewhere, you can expect your microSD card to stay in perfect, operating condition.

This one features 64GB of memory, though you can shop around and find it in higher or lower capacities. There are read speeds that sit at around 95MB per second while write speeds sit at 90MB per second.

Samsung Pro+

Samsung might seem like they have their hands in almost every electronics industry, and they kind of do, but their Samsung Pro+ microSD card is truly one of the best. This one in particular actually has a whopping 128GB of storage, which is plenty of space for apps, photos, and videos combined.

You’ll be able to record endless amounts of 4K video with this one. Speeds are nice in this card, with read sitting at 95MB/s and write at 90MB/s.

Samsung Evo Select

Samsung’s EVO Select is another excellent choice. It’s one of Samsung’s lower-end cards for those that don’t need top tier, professional performance out of their memory card. There’s a whole 128GB of storage inside of this card, and it comes with some really good data transfer rates inside — you’ve got 100MB per second for read and 90MB per second for write.

Suffice to say, you can fit a ton of content, apps, and games in this card — Samsung says it can fit almost 12,000 songs or 6 hours of optimized 4K footage. Alternatively, it can fit almost 30,000 photos on it. If 128GB is too much or too little, Samsung offers this one in varying sizes as well.

Samsung Evo PLUS

Last, but certainly not least, we have the Samsung EVO Plus card. In terms of performance, this one actually is on the lower-end of the spectrum, even lower than the Evo Select. That said, your data transfer rates are going to be a lot lower than that Evo Select. Your read speeds are going to be around the same at 100MB per second read, but your write speeds see a drastic drop at just 60MB per second.

You can still choose to mesh this one with your system storage, as Android allows you to do; however, data collection and moving data around might be a little on the slower side of things. It’s still not a bad memory card for those that don’t plan to do anything that’s super demanding.
