Is your Galaxy S10 stuck on Samsung logo and won’t boot up normally? Here are the troubleshooting steps that you do to fix it.
Stuck on Samsung logo fix #1: Forced reboot
Restarting the device normally is the first and easiest way to fix an issue like this. If you haven’t tried this yet, here’s what you must do:
- Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons for approximately 12 seconds or until the device power cycles. Note: Allow several seconds for the Maintenance Boot Mode screen to appear.
- From the Maintenance Boot Mode screen, select Normal Boot. Note: Utilize the volume buttons to cycle through the available options and the lower left button (below the volume buttons) to select. Allow up to 90 seconds for the reset to complete.
- If Maintenance Boot Mode screen won’t show, then your device does not have it. Simply wait for the device to power down completely.
Force restarting a device is often an effective way to restart an unresponsive or frozen Galaxy device. If you’ve already tried this trick before contacting, continue with the rest of the possible solutions below.

If a forced reboot won’t change anything and the device is still stuck on Samsung logo, the next thing that you can do is to shut it off. If possible, turn off the phone by doing it the regular way, that is, by pressing and holding the Power button. If the Power menu won’t show, or if there’s no response on your device, then you must do the second trick: wait for the battery drain. Unlike older devices, your Galaxy S10 has a non-removable battery pack. The only way to restart it is by pressing the Power button, or by doing the forced reboot procedure. So, if the two ways are not doable, what you can do is to simply wait it out. Hopefully, the system reverts to its normal function after it restarts. This can take time if the battery has high charge left at this time. Depending on how fast your phone loses battery power, this can mean waiting for a few hours to several days. Once your device has powered down, or if the battery has been emptied, charge it right away for at least 30 minutes. Don’t attempt to turn on the device right away to allow it to top up the battery with enough power.

If your Galaxy S10 is still stuck on Samsung logo screen, the next thing that you should try is to restart it to safe mode. If the problem is caused by a bad app you’ve installed, safe mode may allow your S10 to boot up normally. You can then uninstall apps to fix the problem.
To restart your S10 to safe mode:
- Turn off your S10. If you can’t turn it off normally, let the phone drain its battery until it turns itself off.
- With your S10 off, press and hold the Power key past the model name screen.
- When “SAMSUNG” appears on the screen, release the Power key.
- Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
- Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
- Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.

- Boot to safe mode.

- Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
- After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
- If your S10 still refuses to boot up normally, repeat steps 1-4.

Safe mode procedure is only useful if a third party app is the one causing the problem. If the reason lies in the software, restarting to safe mode may not have any effects at all. In order to boot to Recovery Mode, you must do the following:
- Turn off the device. This is important. If you can’t turn it off, you’ll never be able to boot to Recovery Mode. If you are not able to shut the device off regularly via the Power button, wait until the phone’s battery is drained. Then, charge the phone for 30 minutes before booting to Recovery Mode.
- Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Bixby button at the same time.
- While still holding the Volume Up and Bixby keys, press and hold the Power button.
- The Recovery screen menu will now appear. When you see this, release the buttons.
If your phone boots to Recovery Mode successfully, make sure to try wipe cache partition first. If that won’t work, then you can factory reset the phone by selecting Wipe data/factory reset.
