The #Samsung #Galaxy #S7Edge is one of the two flagship phones released in 2016 which is also the more premium version. It’s main feature is its curved 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display. This size is just great for doing various multimedia tasks while keeping the phone compact and easy to carry around. The phone shares similar hardware specs as the S7 phone but due to its larger screen it is able to accomodate a larger 3600mAh battery. S7 Edge Stuck In Installing System Update
Problem: We have a Galaxy S7 edge about 1 year old. 3 days ago it got stuck in a combined “recovery reboot” and “installing system update” loop. It will not complete either task, and will NOT boot up. When plugged in to recharge, none of the usual lights come on. It appears to be dead, but by pushing Home and Volume Up, it will return to the loop of installing system update and recovery boot. AT&T has been NO help, and we have found no local techs to help. This came out of the blue as things were working fine. New icon appeared just now appears to be a robot laying on its back with its breastplate open and a new text on the screen saying “No Command” ????
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once this is done perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case the issue still persist then you will need to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
S7 Edge Not Connecting To The Internet
Problem: I have an live demo unit that doesn’t have an internal modem. I discovered in the last few days that I was unable to keep connected to a local network. I have been able to connect to my iPhone using a hotspot. I tried all of the activities described on page https://thedroidguy.com/2017/01/fix-samsung-galaxy-s7-can-no-longer-connect-wi-fi-android-7-nougat-update-troubleshooting-guide-potential-solutions-1069895#TS1 – I am still only able to connect momentarily i.e. 30-60 seconds and then the network connection is no longer connected to the Internet – When I performed the factory restore I had to sign into my Google account. to proceed. I seem to be stuck with the build from December 2016. I have downloaded and tried installing a stock BTU firmware from 18th December 2017. Although it all seems to go OK when I finally reboot into the newly formatted OS and check the about information nothing seems to have changed.
Solution: You should try flashing the phone software again. This time you should download another copy of the firmware file from the Sammobile website. Make sure that the flash is successful before checking if the phone will connect to the Internet.
S7 Edge Freezes
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge freeze for the past six (6) hours and even if I try holding down the power button nothing is happening. It just Froze on whatever I was doing and stick there can’t switch of neither any other options.
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to remove the microSD card of the phone if one is installed then perform a simulate battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the phone still freezes then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Will Not Charge Using Wall Charger
Problem: Gday! My Samsung S7 edge will not charge when plugged into a wall no matter what adapter and charger I use. Interestingly enough it will charge if I keep the power off and plug it into the pc via usb. Soon as I turn the power on it stops charging and a message pops up on my pc saying device not recognized! Im so upset because I need to transfer my pics and videos to my pc. My carrier doesn’t seem interested in helping me wondering if you guys have heard of this happening and if you have a solution for me. Thanks for your time!
Related Problem: Originally working fine until battery drained. Tried to charge the phone, used a few working chargers, wired and wireless, but don’t see any indication that it’s charging. No light or any flickering on the screen. Check charging port and looks clean. Pressing buttons don’t work to try to system reset to no avail. Phone is 14 months old. Solution?
Solution: It looks like this problem is caused by a faulty charging power or power IC. What you will need to do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. If the issue persists then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Has Flasing Line On Screen
Problem: Hi, At the weekend I took my phone out of my pocket and noticed there was a line right across the bottom quarter of my screen, and everything below it is flickering. It was still usable until today, now once the screen locks I have to press the power button up to 50 times to get the screen back on. And while pressing the power button to unlock screen the line along the bottom flashes brightly. Thanks
Solution: Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then you might have downloaded an app that’s causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the issue occurs after the reset then the display might be faulty already. You will need to bring the phone to a service center then have it checked.
S7 Edge Easily Loses Signal
Problem: Good morning. Sometimes i lost my signal suddenly. In the same place and time, other people still have signal with same Internet Provider. Rain (low scale), noise sound from amplifier, trees, etc. Will disrupt my internet signal easily. But other people still going with good connection. I think my samsung s7 edge device too sensitive with environment condition. Any suggestion ? Thank you.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if a software glitch is causing this problem by backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then this is most likely a hardware problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
