S7 Edge Restarting On Its Own After Android Nougat Update
Problem: Hi my samsung s7 edge is only 3months old. Ever since i upgraded to android 7 it has been restarting for itself, lagging and the camera gives an error sometimes. The phone had shut down for itself today and now it’s not coming back on. The battery image is not appearing when i put it to charge neither is the indicator on top. I have tried all the different key combinations to restart the phone but it’s still not coming on. Please help!
Solution: If this problem occured right after you updated the phone software then it’s most likely caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone during the update process. This old data is now causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in these issues.
The first thing that you should do right now is to make sure that the phone turns on since you mentioned that the phone will not start right now. This could be due to the battery not being charged so this is what we will be doing first. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to charge your phone.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Press and hold both the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. This simulates a battery pull.
- Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
- If your phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if your phone charges using a computer USB port or by using a wireless charger.
If your phone does not charge then you should bring this to a service center and have it checked.
If your phone charges then you should check if it turns on. If it does then you can now troubleshoot the restarting issue of your device. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete then don’t install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. You might need to remove the microSD card of your phone as well if you have one installed to check if this is causing the problem.
S7 Edge Restarting Randomly
Problem: My phone has been a little frustrating for the past few months, it would restart at least once a day. It would happen unfailing at least once a day restarting. When the Nougat (7.0 – 7.1.1) update came out and my phone was updating at around 40% then it gave up and tried to restart. Then it got to 26% the second time it was installing or downloading the update. Now the phone refuses to respond to anything. None of the force reboot things work, I’ve tried for hours. The only thing the phone does fade between the blue and turquoise notifications light. Please help me figure out what is wrong with the phone and how to fix it. Thank you. .
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to simulate a battery pull. To do this you just have to press and hold the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes. When charging the device make sure to follow the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air to remove any dirt or debris stuck in it.
- Try charging your phone. If it doesn’t charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
Once your phone charges and turns on I recommend that you remove the microSD card of your phone if you have one installed. Next, backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset has completed you should manually check for the software update.
S7 Edge Does Not Turn On
Problem: Hi i had a problem with my s7 edge, it doesn’t want to turn on i have tried to turn on by watching your video on YouTube and it doesn’t work, i could say my phone was completely dead and the battery was over 70%. For some infos i bought this phone in Sydney and the model is sm g 935f.
Solution: There are two things that you can do whenever the phone does not turn on. First, you should attempt to charge the phone. Follow the charging procedure we have provided on the first issue we discussed in this post. If your phone does not respond to charging then try to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding the power button and volume down key for at least 10 seconds.
If the phone still does not respond then you should have this checked at a service center.
S7 Edge Keeps On Freezing
Problem: Here i have more serious problem with my samsung s7 edge. My phone works normally as i try to reboot using volume key down and power key. It works well for couple of months. Then it happen again, now i try to solve it like before. Thinks its getting worse, i cannot totally explore my phone. When doing that previous restart, it only work for 5 seconds, then it freeze. That means i can only use my phone for 5 seconds. I try everything that can help to fix my phone, such as boot in safe mode (freeze), wipe cache, reboot system, reboot everything, until i do the wipe factory reset. But what happens next ? It keeps freezing. I’m going crazy about this phone. Any solutions ?
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this card as this might be causing the problem.
Another troubleshooting step you should consider is to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this step.
In case the issue still persists then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Restarting By Itself
Problem: I’m bought Samsung Edge 7, and it has only been 6 months of using it, i’m having bad experience with this phone. 3 months ago, it started to keep restarting by itself randomly. I went to samsung center to get it reset, it was slightly better. Until recently, it started to get cranky again, and restart almost every 5 sec. and now i couldn’t even use start my phone at all!! really disappointed and frustrated. I paid so much for this and yet i’m facing so much difficulties within 6 months.
Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have then try removing this as this could be causing the problem.
In case your phone does not have a microSD card installed or if the issue still occurs even after removing the card then I suggest that you try doing a factory reset again this time from the recovery mode. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in the phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file.
