S7 Black Screen After Drop
Problem: Hi, my S7 fell from my hand, and even though the screen is physically intact and unscratched, it is competently black, therefore, I cannot unlock my phone to extract the data. I’ve bought devices to connect keyboard and mice, they don’t work, they don’t even power the phone up. What are my options? I desperately need to backup pictures. Thanks for your advice.
Solution: It looks like the drop might have damaged some internal component of the phone. Does your phone respond to charging? If it does then you can try connecting the phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then try to backup your phone data using the software. In case the phone does not respond at all and you want to recover your phone data then you will have to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Screen Cracked After Drop
Problem: I dropped my phone and the screen cracked. Actually took a tiny chunk of white piece then spider webbed through the rest of the clear screen. Immediately Want black. Can use volume and can hear notifications etc and the power light and the lights at the bottom under the arrow symbols all work. I have the samsung adapter that allows screen mirroring onto my tv . everything comes up on my tv. Fingers do not work in the screen .I Want to try and fix it myself and as cheap as possible. I’ve been told different things I need to do so. Some say just a clear screen replacement. Others say digitizer and LCD screen others say just LCD and clear screen cause digitizer comes with on-screen.etc… I really just need to know exactly what I need to buy on Amazon then I want to watch an instructional youtube video or so. edging along those lines. I’ve looked at screens for $11 up to $200 if you could break it down for me like your trying to explain it to a 3 year old blind monkey that would be great.I know I should send it to professional but can’t spend that kind of money. Paid it off in full 2 days before it broke. So this is killing me. I figure the worst thing I can do to my broken phone is break it more. So if you could let me know exactly what I’m looking for on Amazon and or suggest any sites or videos that could help me do it myself tl that would be awesome
Solution: For this particular issue you will need to replace the whole display assembly. If you will do this on your own then take note that it is going to be a tedious process. I recommend that you visit the ifixit website https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+S7+Screen+Replacement/90298 which can serve as your guide.
S7 Screen Went Black
Problem: i have Samsung S7 which suddenly went blank without any reason, it was charging and had reached the 100% charge as I unplugged it went blank. I can still hear the phone ring but the screen doesn’t light up at all. I have tried pressing the home button, power button and volume button together to get some response. all I am able to get is green colour lines and some flashing imagoes and it the light on top goes blue and then disappears. this happened once before but came back to normal almost straight away. right now I don’t have any lights but when I try and call the number the phones rings. please help.
Related Problem: I have a Samsung S7 my son dropped a fidget spinner on it and the bottom of the screen showed like it was shattered. However it worked for about 2 more days. The whole screen was black after that. I can hear the sounds when it turns on. I have replaced the screen and the main board and home flex cable. (broke the main board after trying to replace the flex cable) When I turned the phone on I could hear the sound when it turned on, and the clicks of touching the screen but still a black screen. After following the reset process I have found on here, now I do not hear the clicking of the screen when I touch it when it is on. Still a black screen. Needing help on this issue. Also unknown Android version.
Solution: You should try performing a simulated battery pull first which is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the issue persists then try starting the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you will have to perform a factory reset here as the problem could be caused by a software glitch. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
