S6 Not Connecting To Wi-Fi

Problem: My Verizon Galaxy Samsung S6 will not connect to my home Wi-Fi. It connects to other Wi-Fi points anywhere (with and with My Verizon Galaxy Samsung S6 will not connect to my home Wi-Fi. It connects to other Wi-Fi points anywhere (with and without passwords). All other computers and phones can connect to my home WI-FI. My other phone is the same as the one having the problems and it works. Have done all resets, including Factory Reset to no avail. This occurred after the Early Nov 2107 update. Is my phone toast?

Solution: If your phone can connect to other Wi-Fi networks but not on your home Wi-Fi network then there’s a possibility that the problem could be with your wireless router. Try to check if there are any security settings configured that could prevent the phone from connecting to it.  You should also try to restart your home router then check if your phone can connect to it. In case the issue persists then you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then there might be an app you installed which is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the issue persists then you should consider flashing your phone with its stock firmware file using Odin. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Sound Issue After Nougat Update

Problem: I have recently updated my S6 to a new Android Nougat (7.0) version. It was an official update from Samsung. After receiving the update I noticed that the audio coming from the phone speaker (not loud speaker) is now have a metallic rambling tone while calling or talking to someone. It is very noticeable and extremely annoying. turning on/off extra Volume option during call will solve it. But Samsung should fix it.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check the speaker grill and make sure that there are no obstructions that could affect the sound quality. If necessary clean this port using a can of compressed air. If this port is clean then the next suspect is an old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This old data will cause a conflict with the new software version resulting in issues such as this. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Stuck In Black Screen With Blue LED Light

Problem: My phone (samsung galaxy s6) is stuck on a black screen with only the blue led blinking after i dropped it. Also, i asked my friend to call and he was told the number he is trying to reach is out of coverage area or switched off.

Solution: The drop might have damaged your phone which is why it is acting this way. You can however check if the problem is caused by some software glitch by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes then start the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then perform a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Touchscreen Not working After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi, My Samsung Galaxy S6 fell in the toilet and I panicked and washed it and restarted it as the screen was playing up. The touch screen is not working and after the restart I am unable to even switch it off. What can I do? .please note that the touchscreen is unresponsive and the buttons work.

Solution: What you will want to do whenever the phone gets wet is to make sure that it is dry. Wipe the exterior part with a soft cloth. Once this is done place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture present inside the phone. Try turning on the phone after this. If the issue persists then the phone is most likely water damaged in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On After Power Surge

Problem: There was a power surge in my office, all office equipment and lights went out. My Galaxy S6 wasn’t plugged into anything it just was sitting on my desk. At the time of the surge I saw my phone flash then the screen went blank. I have tried to switch it back on but it won’t come on it was charged so not sure what has happened. Can you advise please?

Solution: The phone battery might have been affected by electrostatic discharge. What you will want to do right now is to charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. Start the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone does not start then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

I have tried factory reset, which I lost several pictures of my grandkids and great grandkids,, please give me a suggestion

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then try restarting your home wireless router then connect your phone to it again. You should also check if the same issue occurs when you try to connect the phone to a different Wi-Fi network.

In case the issue persists then try the following steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

S6 Not Sending Text Message To Certain Contacts

Problem: Hello,  Over the last 2 weeks I cannot respond to certain contacts?   I receive their text messages but when I reply the text message spins for hours attempting to send and eventually fails to deliver.  It’s only certain contacts.  I’ve cleared the Cache in the text message app, deleted the contact and re-entered them and still no solution.  Not sure what to do next…. if I clear the data in the text message app will that delete all my text messages, pictures and videos in the text?    Any help is much appreciated. I look forward to your reply.

Solution: You should definitely try to delete the data of the text messaging app. This action will not delete your text messages.

In case the issue persists then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
