Problem: Daughter dropped her Galaxy s6 edge down toilet. It’s still switched on but power button wont work and google assistant keeps activating. We don’t have any dry rice in the house to use. What else can we do to make it work again? Should we put it on charge?
Solution: If the phone got wet then you will need to make sure that water or moisture is not present inside the phone. Usually in this case you will need to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. In case you don’t have a bag of rice then you should place the phone in a container with a couple of silica gel desiccants for at least 48 hours. Once this is done check if the phone power button works. If it doesn’t then it might have been damaged by the water in which case you will need to have this checked in a service center.
S6 Edge Not turning On Not Charging After Getting Wet
Problem: I think that it is liquid because i splashed a little water on it by mistake …. and now the phone is turned off can’t turn on and wont charge can u help with some kind of advice ?
Solution: The best thing that you can do in this case is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done make sure to clean the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air then charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the phone might already be water damaged.
S6 Edge Has High Pitched Noise When Using Bluetooth Headphones
Problem: I recently got a Plantronics Bluetooth. It worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. Whenever I hit the mic button on my phone from any app, it gives off a high pitched noise. I reported it to Plantronics and they said it wasn’t the Bluetooth but it was my Galaxy S6 edge. Granted it does not do this on any other phone. This was their answer…..We verified this situation and seems that this issue is not coming from the headset, seems that the Voice App from the Android phones in this case most of the Samsung’s are presenting this, we recommend you to try with a different Voice App Version, seems that the Version 17 is the one with this issue, you can try with the Version 16 or lower. Any advice on this and how would I go about it.
Related Problem: My Android Samsung Edge 6 has worked flawlessly until about 4 days ago. I do not remember changing any settings. I was on the phone with Sprint tech and we did a factory reset, cleared all the caches, and deleted all the default programs. So this is the issue, when I use my bluetooth (any of them) there is a very loud backfeed noise that lasts for about 9 seconds every time I try and speak. It is quite annoying. Any suggestions?
Solution: It’s possible that this is a software related issue brought by a recent update. To troubleshoot this problem you should perform the steps listed below.
- Check if a new software update is available then update your phone accordingly.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Edge Unable To Download Software Update
Problem: My samsung S6 edge G925I have some problems. That is when requesting for software update it does not respond. Unable to download software update. Also when SIM card inserted ,it does not registered with network . What I do?
Solution: The problem of the phone not able to get any updates and the phone not registering to a network is most likely related. What you should do first in this case is to remove the SIM card from the phone then insert it in another device. This way you will be able to check if the SIM card is working. If the SIM does not work then you should consider replacing this. However, if the SIM does work then you need to troubleshoot the phone by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete check if the phone will register to a network and if it is able to get software updates.
In case the issue persists then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Receiving Text Messages
Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 edge and use Tello, which is on the Sprint Network. I have version 7.0. I have noticed that I have not been receiving some texts recently. I can’t receive texts from multiple people, but I still receive some texts from them. The message has appeared as ‘sent’ on the senders phone, but does not show up on my device. I know that some of the messages that I have failed to receive come from both Android devices and Apple devices as well as Pixel devices. I have not been over WiFi when the problem occurred. I use the Android Messages app by Google. I hope that you can help. Thanks.
Solution: Usually, if your phone is not getting any text messages this is usually a network related problem. Try checking if the issue occurs when the signal your phone is getting is weak. You should also contact your carrier in case there are any network activities that might be causing this problem. In case the issue is not network related then it’s time to troubleshoot the phone by performing the steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.
S6 Edge Connected To Wi-Fi But No Internet
Problem: My samsung S6 edge recently started dropping my wifi signal. It is connecting to my wifi yes, but no internet connection. Keeps saying ‘Internet may not be available’ It is very frustrating, I’ve tried almost everything and nothing. Please help!
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if the issue occurs for any Wi-Fi network that your phone connects to. If it only happens on a particular Wi-Fi network then the problem might be with the router of that network. In case the problem occurs when your phone connects to any Wi-Fi network then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Forget the Wi-Fi network from the phone then connect to it again.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
