How to set up Face Unlock (Face Recognition) on Galaxy Tab S4

Samsung’s most recent attempt to enter desktop computing market is shown by an ever-improving Galaxy Tab S line. The latest Galaxy Tab S4 comes with impressive hardware and software but most importantly, it also has more security features. This tablet now sports Face Recognition sensors so it can now user a user’s registered face to unlock the screen. It gets rid of fingerprint sensor and instead now has Intelligence Scan to detect a user’s face and Iris (for eye scanning). Intelligence Scan technology makes use of the impressive 8MP front-facing camera to recognize a face and eyes. How to set up Face Unlock (Face Recognition) on Galaxy Tab S4

    1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    2. Open Settings app.
    3. Tap Biometrics and security.
    4. From the Biometrics section, tap Face Recognition.
    5. Enter the current PIN, password, or pattern if prompted.
    6. For first time setup:
      • Review the disclaimer then tap OK.
      • Review the info then tap CONTINUE.
      • If presented, select a lock screen option (e.g., Pattern, PIN, Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
      • Review the info then tap CONTINUE.
      • While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed on-screen.
      • From the Faster recognition screen, tap the switch to turn on or off.
      • Tap OK (at the bottom).
      • If presented, tap the Notifications switch (upper-right) to turn on  Switch on or off.
      • Tap DONE.
        • When on, configure any of the following:
        • Hide content. Tap to turn on or off.
        • Notification icons only. Tap to turn on or off.
        • Transparency. Slide the blue bar left or right to adjust the level while viewing the preview at the top.
        • Auto-reverse text color. Tap to turn on or off. Reverses the color of notification text based upon background color.
    7. If presented, tap TURN ON.
