5 Best Mobile Printers

Epson WorkForce WF-100

Undoubtedly one of the best mobile printers available today, the Epson WorkForce WF-100 comes with a sleek design (12.2 x 6.1 x 2.4) and a lightweight body (3.5 pounds). This factor makes it extremely easy to carry around, which is a prerequisite for a mobile printer. It can print both black and color prints, with capacities of 250 and 200 sheets respectively. The printer can only hold 20 pages at a time, though. This might seem like not much, but it’s still pretty decent for a mobile printer.

If you’re looking to operate the printer solely using the battery (wireless), the printing capacity comes down to 100 and 50 for black and color prints respectively. That’s pretty decent too, especially for getting those quick prints out of the way. It can handle spreadsheets, legal papers, as well as standard documents with relative ease, thus covering pretty much all your printing needs. Naturally, it can also be operated using iOS and Android devices, while PC connectivity is also present here, making it an incredibly versatile offering overall.

Lastly, it comes with a 1.4-inch LCD panel on board, which will come in handy for the initial setup of the printer. The printer can be yours for just $197.50 on Amazon right now. This particular printer also comes with Amazon’s Dash replenishment feature enabled, which orders cartridges automatically when the printer is running out of ink.

Canon Selphy CP1200

As the name probably suggests, this printer is better suited for printing proper photos. If you have a large collection of photos from a recent trip and want a physical copy of it, the Selphy is the printer to get. The fact that it’s extremely portable also helps a great deal, making it convenient to print photos while on the go. The prints that you get out of the Selphy CP1200 are water resistant and can last up to a 100 years, which is pretty amazing. Moreover, it comes with a dedicated Wi-Fi button to make sure you are quickly connected to the nearest network for quick prints.

You can get ink kits that can print 18, 36 or 54 photos. Each photo takes approximately 47 seconds to print. You can print photos of 2.1 x 2.4 inches (card), 3.9 x 5.8 inches (postcard), as well as 2 x 2 inches (square label), offering a wide range of printing options.

Adding to the social aspect is the ability to print photos from Facebook or Instagram directly. Users can also create custom collages directly from the printer. Canon’s dedicated Selphy app helps a great deal with this. The Selphy is a cost effective printer, priced at only $109.95 on Amazon. The bundle with the battery will cost $159.99, which is the recommended option here.

Canon Pixma iP110

Yet another Canon offering on this list, the Canon Pixma iP110 is meant for proper printouts and not just photos. The fact that the printer originally broke cover in 2010 shouldn’t hold back customers as it is still a pretty capable offering. It can handle up to 240 prints on battery and 290 prints while connected to a PC. The capacity, however, is pretty low at 50 pages. However, the capacity is still better than some of the other printers that we mention on this list.

You can use Canon’s PRINT application on Android to print documents wirelessly. iOS devices benefit from the AirPrint feature. The printer only weighs 4.3 pounds and has dimensions of 7.3 x 12.7 x 2.5 inches. Much like the Selphy, the Pixma iP110 can also print photos, in addition to standard documents, of course. Oddly enough, the Pixma can print up to 191 black and white pages and 249 pages with one Canon cartridge. The printer, ink and battery bundle is currently available on Amazon for $258.42.

HP OfficeJet 250

This is a truly portable printer, capable of churning out prints practically anywhere. At 6.5 pounds, it’s slightly bulky, however, making it harder to carry around in a backpack. With dimensions of 7.8 x 15 x 3.6 inches, it can fit in snugly into any normal sized backpack. The onboard display allows you to select the kind of prints you’re looking for. As for the battery, HP mentions that it can eke out 500 prints on a full charge. The supplied black cartridge can print 200 pages, while the company’s tri-color cartridge can churn out 165 prints.

The user can print pages of up to 8.5 x 14 inches. Wireless printing is made easy thanks to HP’s ePrint application on Android and iOS. The printer with the XL cartridge bundle will set you back by $355.95, while the standard cartridge bundle will cost under $200.

Canon IP2820

This is a slightly bulkier option at 5 pounds and 16.8 x 9.3 x 5.3 inches. However, as far as printing credentials are concerned, the IP2820 is still pretty decent. With software features like the Full HD Movie Print included, users can capture still photos by pairing videos with the printer. The printer has 60 page auto-feeder, returning eight black and white prints and four color prints respectively. If you’re looking for a printer on a budget, this one has to be it. The IP2820 will set you back by roughly $60, making it the cheapest offering on this list.
