S8+ Camera Focuses Only In The Middle

Problem: Hi there, just wondering if you might be able to help me with a question I have. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ , and when I take a picture using the rear camera, I notice that it focuses only in the middle, and the edges are blurry. Is this something that happens because of a wrong setting or is that just how the phone is? Thanks.

Solution: There’s  possibility that the problem could be caused by a wrong camera setting. Before checking this, try wiping the rear camera lens cover with a microfiber cloth making sure that there are no smudges present as this will affect the focusing ability of the camera. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. This allow you to eliminate any camera settings  that could be causing the problem as the camera will be reset to its default setting.

One last troubleshooting step to consider if the issue persists is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Camera Failed Error

Problem: Hi, I have the problem with my S8 plus where I open the camera app and it closes and a notification pops up saying “camera failed. I attempted many trouble shooting methods such as: deleting system cache, rebooting phone in safe mode, clearing cache and data, and Master Reset to bring back to factory settings.  None of these have solved the problem. Can you recommend a solution or a store I could bring my device into to have it fixed?

Solution: If doing a factory reset fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by an issue with the camera module of the phone. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Taking Blurry Photos

Problem: The phone and video are both taking blurry images and this is the way they are appearing when I look at them afterwards in ‘My Gallery’. It has never happened before. I have tried cleaning the camera to no avail. It also definitely does not need updated as I always accept ‘new updates’ when they are being offered.

Solution: If your photos and videos appear blurry then this is most likely due to the camera not focusing properly. To fix this problem you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the camera lens is free from any smudges. If necessary, clean the lens using a microfiber cloth.
  • Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Check if the problem occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Make sure your phone apps are updated.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as it could be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S8+ Randomly Recording Videos

Problem: My S8 plus has been taking videos all on its own for the last two nights while I am sleeping. It also made a phone call to one of my contacts while I was asleep. I woke up to the sound of the phone ringing on the other end because somehow the call was made in speaker mode. It’s really kind of creepy that this is happening.

Solution: You should check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the problem, still occurs even in Safe Mode then a factory reset needs to be performed. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
