S8+ Stuck On Boot Logo After Battery Replacement
Problem: After installing new battery and charging it phone will turn on and gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S8 plus screen. You cannot turn the phone off, except in the Recovery mode. Used Odin to install AT&T Oreo which was done successfully, but no change..I went through all the different suggestions to get it to start normally, but nothing works. Time when I was pressing buttons and connecting the USB cable from my computer, I actually got it to shut off and start showing the charging screen, but as soon as I turned it back on, it was back to the screen and would not turn off. Is there some firmware that is not accessible so that the motherboard is hosed?
Solution: It looks like some hardware component or the battery itself got damaged during the battery replacement and is now causing this problem. You can however troubleshoot this issue by checking if it is caused by a software glitch by starting the phone in recovery mode. From here I suggest that you wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the issue still persists then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8+ Will Not Boot Up After Software Update
Problem: Hello, I have an S8+ with Verizon. Android did a system update on or about September 24th and within 48 hours the phone would start, but not boot up. I only had the opening screen with scrolling dots at the bottom. Tried doing soft reset several times, also tried safe mode. Still no luck. Took the phone to the local Verizon store and the guy there said the phone was fried. He said it was the update and that I was the second person in 2 days with the same problem. I had a second phone bought at the same time which belonged to my wife. The tech at Verizon swapped out my SIM card, made it so my phone number was on the wife’s phone, and now, I keep getting prompted for an update on her phone too. Do you know a way to defeat this. I am afraid if I update on her phone, this will be another one that bites the dust. Please let me know and thank you for offering to help people, it is greatly appreciated.

Solution: For this particular problem you will need to make sure that the phone has sufficient battery charge. If necessary you should charge the phone first using its wall charger. Once the battery has sufficient charge remove the micro SD card from the phone then start the device in recovery mode. From here you will need to wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8+ Shuts Down Even With Battery Charge
Problem: My Galaxy S8+ shuts down as if the battery were dead at battery power as high as 68%. Sometimes it will then start a restart but before it actually does that it turns itself off again. This may go on for several of these cycles. If I plug it into the charger, it will generally start charging and I can use it as it recharges. I bought the phone used.
Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to check if the issue is caused by a software glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t’ then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the issue still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the battery. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
