Google Pixel 2 Black Screen After Drop
Problem: My grandson dropped weight on his Pixel 2, but the screen is not broken but it is a “Black screen” with a few colored pixels in the middle of the screen. I did a soft reset, with no resolution of the problem, Thanks so much.
Related Problem: I have a Pixel 2. Currently, i have a black screen. The issue is, even when you reset the device, it continues to stay off, as in the screen does not change in any way, whether hard or soft restart, and before i did the restart it was allowing me to press the home button, which isn’t really a button but the vibration would occur, and it still occurs when i turn my phone off with the hard reset. I’m not completely sure the software version the phone is on right now.
Related Problem: im having problems with my Pixel 2, the screen has gone completely black I have connected to charger and did the troubleshooting to no avail. but every once and awhile the screen will flicker a bit but not more.
Solution: The pressure exerted on the display might have damaged it already. The best troubleshooting step that you can do in this particular case is to start the phone in recovery mode and if the screen works in this mode do a factory reset. This way you can eliminate any possible software glitches that could be causing the problem.
- Turn off the phone by pressing the Power button for a short while.
- Press and hold the Volume Down button for about 2-3 seconds.
- While still holding this key press the Power button and release.
- Choose option Recovery by using to navigate Volume buttons, and to confirm Power key.
- When the Android Image shows up on the screen hold down the Power key for a couple of seconds.
- While holding the Power button quickly press the Volume Up key.
- You should be in the Pixel Recovery Mode.
From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase the phone data.
In case the screen remains black even in recovery mode then it’s likely that the display is damaged and needs to be replaced. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Google Pixel 2 Has Vertical Lines On The Screen
Problem: Hi, my phone has vertical lines on the screen, almost entirely covering my phone screen except with the top part with the time. It’s still working but as I said I can’t see anything else but the above part of my screen. What should I do?
Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by an app that you installed by starting the phone in Safe Mode.
- Turn off the phone
- Press your phone’s power button.
- After the Google logo shows on your screen, when the animation starts, press and hold your phone’s volume down button. Keep holding it until the animation ends and your phone starts in safe mode.
- You’ll see “Safe mode” at the bottom of your screen.
Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still persists even in Safe Mode then the next step is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
