The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is the first flagship model of the South Korean giant that is a redesign of their previous high end smartphones. Gone is the usual mostly plastic design which has been replaced by a glass and metal body. Smooth, powerful, and gorgeous are just some of the words used to describe this device. While it is a great phone to use it also has some shortcomings such as the absence of a microSD card slot, no waterproofing, and a lackluster battery life. Some owners of this device are also experiencing certain issues with it which we will be addressing today. In this latest instalment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 slow charging battery drain after software update issue & other related problems.

S6 Slow Charging Battery Drain After Software Update
Problem: So I got an AT&T update monday, ever since then any charger not my OEM has caused drainage of power and “slow charging” shows. I have tried multiple chargers. I then replaced the battery and did a factory reset. The problem went away from about a day. I was getting a regular charge from my car and portable battery, and then the slow charging issue returned.
Solution: It’s possible that certain apps you installed could be causing the problem. Try starting your phone in Safe Mode then observe if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it’s possible that the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Should the problem still occur even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do another round of factory reset. This time though don’t install any apps in your phone after the reset. What you should do first is observe your phone for 2-3 days and see if the issue still occurs.
Some other steps that you should do are as follows
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in it.
- Use a different charging cord to charge your phone.
- Try using a different wall charger that has an output rating of 2.0A.
S6 Gets Stuck In T-Mobile Screen
Problem: When i turn on the phone it goes to the white T-Mobile screen and sticks there. I cannot get the phone to go back to the normal screen with icons and selections. It just stays white. I tired the 10 second wait and still nothing
Solution: Try pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the phone still gets stuck in the T-Mobile screen then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs after performing a step.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.Restart your phone.
- Try starting your phone with a charger connected to it. If the phone starts then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file of your phone as the problem could be caused by a corrupted software.
S6 Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy s6 got wet and once I got home I put it into rice. Woke up the next day and took it out of the rice. But now it won’t turn on. I looked up online to find a way to fix it and I found out to remove the SIM card to know if it was water damage but I still can’t figure it out.
Solution: When you remove the SIM card tray look inside the SIM slot and you will find a sticker inside. If it is red or pink in color then this means that the phone has been water damaged. Since you have already tried placing the phone in rice which doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Overheating Unable To Charge
Problem: The phone was left in the bathroom during a hot shower now it says it’s overheating and unable to charge. I’ve cleared the cache and done soft reset and factory reset. Is there anything else that can be done, or could it just be the battery that needs to be replaced?
Solution: It’s very likely that moisture has entered the phone and has affected some of its internal components. You need to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. If the issue still remains after this then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Will Not Charge
Problem: my phone will not charge. it is a couple months old. connecting to the charger does nothing at all. when I shut the phone off and plug it in, the screen turns on and shows the charging symbol.(the grey battery with the lightning bolt) and then the screen turns off again, where as it’s supposed to bring up a screen where it shows a picture of a battery with a percentage charged. when the phone is on it does not charge and does not recognise the cable. I have tried the simulated battery pull 4 separate times now and it does not change.
Solution: Here’s what you need to do to fix this problem.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any dirt or debris that could be stuck in the port.
- Try using a different charging cord when charging your phone.
- Try using a different wall charger.
If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not turning On After Full Charge
Problem: hey, i have samsung s6. last night i charge this phone and in the morning its shows green light, and 100% fully charged. when i unplugging the charger, it suddenly turned off. and i can’t turn it on anymore. i try power volume home, and more. i’ve tried everything but nothing. no sign of life. why is that? is that a hardware problem? but it’s so normal last night.
Solution: Try connecting the charger again then check if your phone will turn on. If it turns on then the problem could be caused by a faulty power IC. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. If the phone does not turn on when it is connected to its charger then you will still need to bring it to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not Fast Charging
Problem: I have a samsung s6 when charging phone it used to show fast charging now it only shows cable charging i bought a brand new samsung s6 cable for the charger but still showing cable charging not fast charging
Solution: For this particular issue you will need to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. You should also try using a different wall charger preferably with an output of 2.0A.
One last troubleshooting step you should consider is a factory reset. This allows you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
