A QR Code or Quick Response Code  contains information such as text messages and URLs that can be decoded using a QR scanner. The Samsung Galaxy S9 has the ability to read QR codes by default but this feature is hidden on the device.  Listed below are the steps that you need to do to scan a QR Code with your phone without downloading an app from the Google Play Store.

How To Scan QR Codes On Galaxy S9

  • Activate the QR Code extension from the phone Internet browser. Open the browser then tap on the icon with the three dots on the top right portion of the screen. Once a menu appears  select “Extensions” and then activate the slider for “QR Code Reader”
  • To scan a QR code tap on the symbol with the three dots in the top right corner. You will see a menu item called “Scan QR Code”. Tap this option and confirm that Samsung is allowed to use your camera. You can now scan in a QR Code. The result will be displayed directly in the browser.
