How To Perform A Factory Reset On TP-LINK Routers

When you perform a factory reset on your TP-LINK router all of the settings that were made will be reverted to its initial values. Make sure to have a copy of your personalized configurations such as username, password, and other security settings.

To perform a factory reset:

  • With the Router powered on, press and hold the WPS/RESET button (more than 10 seconds) using a paperclip or a pin  until the SYS LED becomes quick-flash from slow-flash. Then release the button and wait the Router to reboot to its factory default settings.
  • The default IP address/domain name can be found at the bottom label of the product, and the default login username and password both are admin (all lower case).

Another method to factory reset the TP-LINK router is from the management page

  • Go to “System Tools – Factory Defaults” page, then click on the restore button and wait the Router to reboot to its factory default settings
