5 Best Soundbars with Subwoofers in 2018

Want to hook yourself up with a sweet sound system for your home theater, but don’t want to break the bank? Soundbar-subwoofer combos are a great way to do this at an affordable price, all while bringing you high quality sound to your home theater. Soundbars can be very expensive, but there’s not a huge difference in sound when it comes to mid-range and supposed high-end options, especially when many mid-range options are now coming with wireless subwoofers at an affordable price. Keep in mind that soundbars can be used for much more than just TV setups–they work great for streaming music from your phone, tablet and other devices, too!

Either way, follow along below, and we’ll show you the best soundbar-subwoofer combos to revolutionize your home theater sound setup!

VIZIO SB3821

The VIZIO SB3821 is a wall-mountable soundbar (hardware comes included with this model for wall-mounting) that you can connect up to your TV by way of an optical cable or Bluetooth, if your TV supports it. This 2.1 channel soundbar brings crystal clear audio to your TV, boasting numbers of up to 100dB in loudness and less than 1% in harmonic distortion.

To really transform your setup, the SB3821 comes with a wireless subwoofer, which gives you a much more rich and powerful bass for all types of media–movies, music, gaming, you name it.

The soundbar has a unique and modern design and comes in at about 48-inches in length, so you’ll need optimal room to mount it. All in all, this premium package comes in at just under $150.

Richsound TB232SW

If you aren’t looking for something exotic and just want something that enhances your TV’s muffled and low-dB stock audio, the Richsound TB232SW carry out its job just fine! Just like the VIZIO SB3821, it’s wall-mountable and comes in the 2.1 channel audio setup. It comes with the wall-mounting kit, as well as an optical cable in the event that you’d rather wire it up to your TV instead of connecting over Bluetooth. It’s also worth noting that the subwoofer is wired into the soundbar as well, so you don’t get all the wireless technology found in the VIZIO.

In addition, it’s a little smaller at just 32-inches long. Still, you get a soundbar with a decent, modern design as well as crisp audio and a deep bass. While some of the tech has been dumbed down in comparison to the VIZIO, that reflects in price as well, coming in at just $110–almost anyone could afford this entry-level soundbar.

Samsung HW-M360

Samsung’s HW-M360 package is another high-quality option at an affordable price. Like most soundbars, it sports the 2.1 channel audio, but also offers crystal clear, rich audio and a deep, powerful bass thanks to the included wireless subwoofer.

You’ll be able to take advantage of all the usual benefits a wireless Bluetooth soundbar brings, but Samsung’s HW-M360 is unique in that you can connect it up with the SWA-8500S. These are Samsung’s surround sound speakers that you can hook up with your soundbar to create a powerful 4.1 channel audio setup with any wires. It’ll cost you an extra $105 in addition to the soundbar’s $165, but you’ll have a home theater setup like no other.

Sony HT-CT80

Sony also offers it own 2.1 channel audio soundbar, the HT-CT80. Even at just under $100, this is a high quality soundbar largely because of software. Virtual surround sound and ClearAudio+ not only mimics the benefits of a true surround sound system, but also automatically adjusts sound settings for a rich experience. ClearAudio+ does this by optimizing audio formats, which results in a consistently rich and crystal-clear output.

It also has something called the S-Master digital amplifier, which basically gets you more power out of your soundbar as well as less distortion caused by heat. And, of course, you get the included subwoofer–it’s not wireless, but comes with the necessary cables to create a wired connection between it and your soundbar.

At $100, you can’t get much better than this when it comes to quality sound.

Klipsch R-10B

The Klipsch R-10B is probably one of, if not the best soundbar-subwoof setup on the market. At $300, it’s a steep price, but a model that audiophiles will love. The soundbar itself is very nice–it comes in at around 40-inches, is loud, and offers rich sound like no other. It’s considered to be a “true” 2-way soundbar.

It has an 8-inch wireless side-firing subwoofer. Bass sounds absolutely amazing and will make you “feel” your movies, music and games.

The only downside is that the Bluetooth technology isn’t the best (seems like it drops a lot), so a wired setup would be better. At $300, this is about as much as you should pay for a soundbar setup, as it’s difficult to differentiate any higher quality sound with a, say, $600 soundbar setup. You can grab the Klipsch R-10B on Amazon in Satin Black below.

Our Take

All in all, these are some of the best soundbars you can get on the market at a range of different prices. If you’re on a budget, the option from both Sony and Richsound are great choices. If you don’t mind spending a little more on your home theater setup in order to get a more immersive sound, the Klipsch R-10B takes the cake here. However, if that’s just a little too much ($300 can be steep for a soundbar setup), the Samsung HW-M360 and VIZIO SB3821 are both great options, especially if you can splurge with the former and get the surround-sound speakers to go with it.

Soundbars are fantastic, affordable options for quickly improving your home setup. They’re very easy to hassle, so after buying one and having it delivered to your home, you can have it setup and connected to your TV (or virtually any device that can output sound) in just a couple of minutes. You won’t regret this purchase, that’s for certain.
