S9 Stuck On Samsung Screen Bootloop
Problem: Hello I have a big problem with my Samsung S9 Plus. I left it charging the whole night and it froze entirely at 03:47 am, when I woke up at 8 am, I saw the screen with that 03:47 am time and it became unresponsive. I tried restarting it and it didn’t work so I did a hard reset. That didn’t work there because it resulted into a bootloop, where it got stuck on the Samsung screen. Then I tried to delete the cache partition through Android Recovery mode. It restarted and worked for 1 minute then it froze again and I was back to step 1. I decided to delete all the data and I left it on formatting data for hours but it didn’t work so I restarted and now it’s stuck on the Android erasing screen, where before it said to reset the phone since its data got corrupted somehow. I need immediately help because I don’t know what was the reason.
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card then I suggest that you remove it. With the card removed connect your phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes then do the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try doing a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
- Start the phone in recovery mode. From here wipe the cache partition of the device then follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Motherboard Defect
Problem: The phone quit on me while at 68% charge while trying to configure an Insteon camera. Tried all combinations of buttons to turn device on and no success. Sprint corporate office tried and no success. Send it in to Samsung and they claim the motherboard needs to be replaced for a cost of $500.00. Any ideas from you experience and have had any reports of bad motherboards on S9 phones.
Solution: Have you tried to check if the phone is covered by the warranty? If you haven’t damaged or done any hardware modification to the phone then it should still be under warranty in which case you can have the phone repaired or replaced for free. If you have voided the warranty of your phone and the service center has determined that the motherboard needs to be replaced ( which is a rare case) then you should consider having this board replaced or just get a new phone.
S9 Not Turning On After Battery Drained
Problem: Hello. I’ve suddenly got my phone turned off (battery was almost drained-about 5%), and tried to turn it on, using all manuals (press and hold power button and down button), but nothing happened. After one of my attempts i got a bootloader mode and selected the “start” or something like that, then it just shutted down, and in further I didn’t see the presence of life anymore. Also at the first hours when the problem happened, the device was able to be located by pc, but now it’s also silent. Can you help me to decide this problem? Thank you!
Related Problem: my phone just died on its own, there was actually an history of little water from the charging port, but cleaned it immediately. only the fingerprint stopped working, phone working well as well. after a week, after watching a movie on my phone, plugged the phone on power, after a while, phone died, nothing responding. even the 3 buttons not working, no sign of power in the device. please help
Solution: Since the battery of the phone has drained then the first thing that you need to do right now is to charge the phone by following the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
- If there is no charging indicator then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You can also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
- When the battery has sufficient charge try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
