S9+ Music Player Will Randomly Start
Problem: Samsung galaxy s9+. Out of nowhere the music player will randomly start. Resetting it does nothing. I have tried to soft reset it, does not work. It is not a bluetooth issue. It just started suddenly about a week ago. No new apps have been downloaded and none of the existing apps have been changed. Even while on the phone having a conversation with someone it sometimes starts playing music. Very aggravating, any idea what is causing? Thanks.
Solution: This problem appears to be caused by a software glitch. Try checking if the issue will occur when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the problem still occurs in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S9+ Apps Will Not Play Sound
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+. My apps will not play sound. My ringtones, alarms, and all alerts work fine. But when I try to play music through apps or the internet, there is no media sound. I have made sure that all my volume settings are turned up already. I have checked for updates. I have also tried restarting the phone many times. Can you please help?
Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to check the sound setting of the phone.
- From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
- Navigate to Settings then Sounds and vibration.
- Adjust the sliders of ringtone, media, notifications, and system to the maximum level
In case the issue persists then try to check if the problem occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S9+ Earphone Microphone Not Working When Using Apps
Problem: In many occasions when connecting the earphones does not activate the microphone of these, but activates the lower microphone of the phone. This happens when using it with apps or games, so far it does not happen with calls.
I have formatted to factory values, I have requested a replacement of the terminal (and this new terminal presents same faults). I have disconnected bixby and google assistant. I have checked the apps / games in other terminals of different brand but same version of operating system (android 8.0) without problems. I have ruled out that it is a failure of the headphones.
I invite you to reproduce the failure easily by doing the following:
2-open the samsung voice recorder app
3- Make a rubbing with your fingers on the microphone of the headset (should record the noise of the rubbing). Carry out the same friction on the lower microphone of the s9 + (NO NOISE SHOULD BE RECORDED AT ROCE).
4-Carry out this check several times in a row, opening and closing the app every time, or discarding the recorded audio every time.
I discovered the flaw by playing games that need team communication such as the pubg mobile … my team told me that there was a loud and unpleasant noise coming from my phone (the noise was the touch of my hand on the lower microphone of the terminal , when it should not happen by playing with headphones.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a software glitch. If your phone is not running on the latest software version then I suggest that you update your phone software. If no software update is currently available then a future update will most likely fix this problem.
S9+ Ringtones Are Out Of Tune
Problem: Hi, I have just started noticing my phone playing ringtones out of tune. I have never heard of this before it almost makes me feel crazy but I have an ear for music and it drives me nuts. It sounds like my grandma’s grand piano that hasn’t been tuned in 50 years! This is my cell phone it’s not supposed to play ringtones off key but it makes me cringe every time a text or call comes in which led me to look for answers online but it looks like nobody else has ever had this problem. The only thing I can think of is dropping it in water almost 2 months ago but other than initially not charging till it was dried out it has been perfectly fine I know they say it takes two weeks for it to show any signs of damage but I would have thought I would have seen Problems by now if there were going to be any but maybe not. So….any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty speaker. You should have this checked at a service center if this is the case.
