S8 Does Not Turn On After Getting Wet
Problem: My S8 fell into the pool for 2 minutes. After getting it out i blew air into all the holes to get water out then i tried to power it but it didnt come on. I air blew it with the hot air from my car ac still wont come on. Then i charged it and it showed a green background i quickly removed it. Then i put it in rice for 24 hours and charged it again it then came on but still showing some signs of malfunction.. i then put it under sun for 3 hours and when it cooled off I charged it to 96% and powered it. It came on normally with no sign of malfunction. 20 mins of use and the phone went blank and since then has refused to power on or charge.
Solution: On paper the phone should be able to resist water for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters. This will however depend on the water seal of the phone. If this seal is broken then there’s a possibility that water will enter the device. What you will want to do first in this case is to remove any moisture inside the phone. To do this place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Once this is done the next thing you will need to do is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris is removed. When the port is clean it’s time to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If no charging indicator appears then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. To turn on the phone press and hold both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then there’s a possibility that the phone has been water damaged. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Screen Went Black After Display Replacement
Problem: I took apart my galaxy S8. I wanted to replace the front glass only but took off the components on the back so i wouldn’t damage the components with the heat gun. I checked some videos on youtube for advice and found out i didn’t even need to use a heat gun so i didn’t use it and also realized i didn’t need to take off the components. After putting the phone back together everything was working fine. And suddenly the screen went black. I took the phone apart for the second time and then put everything in place and the display came on. After a while it went black again. (I don’t believe it’s the black screen of death) i cant reset the phone because it wont give me enough time to go to settings before the screen turns black again. Any suggestions? Blue light on front of the phone works and buttons and sound are fine. The device is a samsung galaxy S8 and the android version is 8.0.0
Solution: It’s either the display you replaced is faulty or some internal component got damaged during the replacement process. The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If this does not fix the problem then I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center so that the exact cause of the problem can be determined.
S8 Not Charging After Software Update
Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S8. I updated my phone about two days ago and now it will not charge. I have tried multiple chargers and have tried resetting the phone. I am currently trying to charge the phone but it is stuck on the black screen with the image of the battery and I am unable to get it to change screens. The phone is completely dead unless it is connected to the charger.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once the port is clean you should try charging the phone again using its wall charger. If it does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the issue persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Stuck In Samsung Logo
Problem: Hi, The problem is that my phone is stuck on Samsung logo screen, going black and repeating. Have tried holding on/off for various times – won’t turn on or off. Tried Reboot Re-loader – I tried recovery mode. I even visited service center and they suggest me to change the motherboard. Please help!
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to remove the microSD card from the device ( if your phone has one installed) then start the phone in recovery mode. From here you will need to do a factory reset. In case this does not fix the problem and the service center suggests that your phone needs a motherboard replacement then it’s very likely that the motherboard of the phone is defective.
