Note 8 Randomly Turns Off When Battery Charge Gets Low

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 that turns off between 40-60% and doesn’t turn back on until I plug it into a charger. Rarely the battery will discharge right down to 5% before it dies. At times it will die at 40% and when I plug it in and turn it back on the battery will read 1-8%. The device will also open closed apps or back out of opened pages to the home screen with no one touching it or even being near it. It has no water damage nor has it been dropped or mis handled in any way. I was thinking it may be a battery issue, the age of the phone, the fact I misplaced the Samsung stylus and even perhaps that someone has remotely hacked my phone for whatever reason. Any ideas/solutions regarding this matter would be great! Thank u in advance for your time and I look forward to your response!

Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a glitch in the phone software. You will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the battery. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Charges Very Slow Battery Drains Fast

Problem: I have had my Galaxy Note 8 for about a year now. Around 2 months ago my phone started to charge incredibly slow. I’ve tried every charger I could find around the house, but they all end up charging very slow or slower. My phone used to be able to charge from 30% to 100% in a little under an hour. Now it take three hours to charge the same amount. I can’t video chat or use my phone at all unless it’s at 100% while on the charger. If it’s not on 100% my phone loses charge while on the charger. I’m so sick and tired of my phone doing this to me I have no idea why its happening. My dad tells me I’m the one breaking the chargers, but it’s been like this for all chargers even brand new ones I bought. I’m struggling and really tired of this. Is there anything that can be done? Thank you so much!

Solution: If the phone charges very slow and the battery drains fast then the first thing you should do is to make sure that the charging port is free from any dirt or debris. Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If the issue persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. In case it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Moisture Detected Error After Software Update

Problem: I just recently done a software update which it told me I needed one. It did the update overnight on Sunday. Monday morning I started experiencing a notification that the USB port has moisture inside. I know that was impossible because I never have it around water and the phone itself was water/dirt resistant. I took it to my us cellular store and they looked at. They was also confused because they didn’t see water. I have also heard that the new update has done this to other phones in the past. I’m just really stressed because I just got this new phone at the end of May. I hope you can help. Thank you

Solution: If the phone has not been exposed to water and the error occurred right after a software update then this is most likely caused by a glitch in the update process. The phone might still have some old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process which is causing a conflict with the new software version. The best thing to do to fix this problem is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
