Galaxy A5 Does Not Turn On After Software Update

Problem: My A5 did an upgrade over night yesterday. All seemed fine when I used the phone after but this evening it just died…black screen. When I plug in the charger no leds come on, it appears dead. Have left it on charger for a few hours but no change. I’ve tried the two types if reboot but nothing happens, the phone just stays completely dead like there’s no powder. Can you suggest what to do next please ?

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. Clean this port using a can of compressed air. Once the port has been cleaned charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then try the following.

  • Use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
  • Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

Once the battery has sufficient charge press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should turn on. If it doesn’t then try accessing the recovery mode then from here do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps does not fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Galaxy A5 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I just unboxed my new galaxy A5 . I saw the initial Samsung logo about three times. Because, I was outside my country, I left my phone in the box. One week later, I’m trying to turn on my phone, and there are no signal of life, even after 10 hours of charging battery, and try to do the hard reset. Can you help me?

Solution: It looks like the phone is not turning on due to a discharged battery. To fix this problem try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. Leave the phone charging for at least 20 minutes. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the phone still does not power on then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

Galaxy A5 Takes Too Long To Turn Off

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy A5.  My problem is when you turn off the phone?  It takes 3 minutes to completely turn off, during that time the Back arrow < and App indicator on bottom stays lit.  After the phone turns off it turns on by itself. If I don’t swipe the screen it will reboot again. I have wiped the partition cache and did a factory reset.  Did not download any new Apps after the factory reset. I still have the problem of not turning off completely. I also charge the battery. I also removed the sd card.  I have another Galaxy A5 and have no problems.

Solution:  If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Galaxy A5 Randomly Shuts Down

Problem: My A5 randomly shuts down and i have tried all the solutions that you suggested on your page i have done hard reset and tried safe mood too nothing worked and now my phone only works when charging pin is connected to it otherwise it shuts down…and this all started a week…before it my phone was working perfect and there was no battery issue or any other issue…and still when my phone gets off its battery is full…i think its a software update issue like you suggested before but i can’t find any solution for it

Solution: If a factory reset fails to fix the problem then this could either be caused by a faulty battery or power IC. I recommend that you have the phone checked at a service center so that the exact component that is causing this problem can be pinpointed and replaced.
