LG G6 Can Only Be Charged Using Wireless Charger
Problem: My LG G6 wont charge while plugged into wall or computer. I tried different wall sockets, different adapter, different micro usb cables, nothing will resolve the issue of recharging the battery. I can charge my phone’s battery by using a wireless charging station. When i try to connect to the computer to transfer files, there is no recognition with my computer. Is there something wrong with my phones usb charging port? Thanks
Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by a faulty charging port assembly since your phone can charge if using the wireless charger. The best thing you can do right now is to clean the charging port using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Once this is done try using a different charging cord to charge the phone. You should also check if the phone can be detected by your computer.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG G6 Will Not Charge
Problem: Hello, I have a trouble with my LG G6. It won’t charge. Basically, it shows that the battery is completely empty when I plug it (displays the empty battery icon with 0% in it). But a soon as it shows up, the phone shut down, then the icon come back, shut down again etc etc. It seems like the phone is not charging fast enough for it to even turn on the lcd? (since the luminosity is at the maximum I guess it’s drain the maximum?). I haven’t cleaned the connector yet as I am not at home right now, but is it possible its a battery issue? I have tried 3 different power supply with the same result.
Solution: It’s likely that the problem is already caused by a faulty battery. You should however try to clean the charging port assembly of the phone as well as try using a different charging cord and wall charger. In case the issue persists then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG G6 Charger Gets Hot
Problem: I am using LG G6. I am charging my phone using various chargers. Everything is fine with the phone. The only thing that irritates is that all the chargers getting heated up. Why this is happening? I didn’t notice it personally but now friends are telling me that they have the same phone but they have no any such problem
Solution: If you are using different chargers and they still heat up then I suggest that you try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then try using a different charging cord to charge the phone. You should also try connecting the charger to a different power outlet.
In case the chargers still heat up then you should have the phone checked at a service center just to be sure that the phone is not causing this problem.
LG G6 Only Vibrates When Turning On
Problem: I was using my phone – on a call, and at the same time trying to snap a picture. phone shuts all of a sudden, and won’t start up again. Tried various starting up, looked at youtube. Only response from the phone is a very weak vibrate, then the faint, green status led on front top middle will flash on and off.
Solution: This issue is most likely caused by a battery that has been drained of charge. I recommend that you charge the phone for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. If the issue still persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Do a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 12 seconds until the LG logo appears.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
- Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- Try charging the phone using a wireless charger.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG G6 Does Not Fully Charge
Problem: Hello Just came back from Spain and my LG G6 has not been the same it won’t charge past 64% and when I use it it runs till it’s dead within an hour. It’s nearly year old I have rebooted and cleared the cache I have deleted certain apps. I use a fast charge but it charges as though it’s plugged into a normal charger. I don’t know what else to do and was hoping you guys might be able to help. thank you.
Solution: The best thing to do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset has completed do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then your phone might need a battery replacement. I suggest that you bring this to a service center and have it checked.
