If you’re trying to grow your Instagram follower count, it can be disappointing when you see that someone or a couple people unfollowed you. It can be more upsetting if it was a friend or family member, the people that are supposed to care about you most, unfollowed you. So how do you tell who unfollowed you on Instagram? Unfortunately, that’s a very difficult thing to find out, as you have to keep track of it manually. That said, if you only have a couple of followers, it can actually be quite easy.
Follow along below, and we’ll show you how you can find out who unfollowed you on Instagram.
Finding out who unfollowed you
If you want to find out who unfollowed you, you really have to know if what is someone specific or keep a manual list (which is certifiably crazy). This is because Instagram (and its parent company Facebook) does not allow developers to analyze followers. That said, there’s no automated way to keep track of who followed you and who unfollowed you.
If you are keeping on top of who follows you, can simply go to your profile and then your Followers List to find out who it was that unfollowed you. You really do have to know who your followers are to find out who unfollowed you. You can’t simply go to someone’s Instagram page and see if it says they’re following you, because it doesn’t outright say that.
To see if someone *is* following you (aside from examining your Followers List), you could go to their Instagram profile and see if it says Follow Back. That isn’t necessarily helpful if you already follow that person yourself.
It’s certainly no easy way to find out if someone stopped following you. As we already mentioned, you really have to keep track of your followers manually to find this information out.
