Solved Samsung Galaxy S8+ Screen Went Black After Getting Wet

S8+ Screen Went Black After Getting Wet

Problem: My S8+ got wet yesterday at the waterpark but appeared to work fine. as the day progressed after getting home, the screen gradually got darker over a period of about 3 hours and eventually went completely black.  It still vibrates when it it is called but no sound. I’ve got it sitting in rice and forced the power off by holding down the volume down button and the power button for 10 seconds. It’s been almost 24 hours. any suggestions?

Solution: Although this phone has a waterproof feature there are instances when water can still get into the phone especially if its rubber seals are broken. What you should do right now it to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done turn on the phone and check if the issue still occurs. In case the battery has run out of charge its best to charge your phone first.

In case the issue still persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Recovering Data From Cracked Unresponsive Screen

Problem: My Galaxy S8+ had a flip cover & a “ultra tempered glass” screen protector, both failed miserably. At least the flip cover did – when my phone dropped off the counter the cover flew open & it landed face down on tile floor. The undamaged “ultra tempered” screen protector pressed into the screen resulting in all 4 corners cracking. I removed the undamaged screen protector, which in turn pulled off tiny pieces of glass from the corners. Everything worked fine for months until one day I tried answering a call and the touchscreen was unresponsive. However the physical buttons do work. I was due for upgrade at the time & couple hours later had a new S9. I do not want to pay for a screen replacement but have a lot of confidential data (personal & client’s) not backed up or synced with any cloud services, Because of the lock code, I can not connect to a pc (or S9) & use smart switch to transfer the data.  Any thoughts??

Solution: The only way you will be able to retrieve the data stored in the phone is if you have the display replaced so that you can access the files.

S8+ Screen Ghost Touch

Problem: Good afternoon, have had the ghost touches before and the Firmware update has fixed it.  This time nothing is correcting the crazy ghost touch in the exact same spots on the screen.  If you open the phone keypad, the numbers 1 and 3 will just repeat pressing so fast I can’t keep up and numbers collect and go off the screen.  I noticed that my display was getting hot, so I tried the clearing of the cache and that didn’t fix it.. As soon as the display lights up these touches are seen making the ‘bubbles’ on the screen, in the 1 and 3 keypad locations, going 80 miles an hour.  HELP. .

Solution: Do you have a screen protector or case installed in your phone? If you have one then I suggest that you remove it first as this might be causing the problem. You should also check if this problem is caused by a software glitch by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the issue persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S8+ Screen Has Vertical Pink Line

Problem: My phone is samsung s8 plus since I backuped my pics and videos I am facing a problem a vertical pink line is appearing on the right side of the screen from top to bottom. I already rebooted my phone but it is still appearing I don’t know what to do..please help me in this

Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this you will need to start the phone in Safe Mode. If there is no pink line in this mode then it is most likely caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then you should proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a damaged display assembly already. The only way to fix this is to have the display assembly replaced at a service center.
