S8+ Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: I went swimming with my samsung s8+ the other day and my phone was only in the water for maybe a minute before I noticed the screen went black and wouldn’t turn off I did the normal dry the phone put it in rice but nothing has worked to get the screen to turn back on. I’ve charged it for hours and when I first did it my flash went off and I heard static but other then that nothing but a few flashes of my battery indicator. I’ve held the power on button and volume down button several times from 7 seconds to 5 minutes.
Solution: Although this phone has a waterproof rating there are still instances when water an enter the device especially if the rubber seal of the device is broken. The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to place the phone in a bag of rice or at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. If necessary you should clean this port using a can of compressed air. Proceed with charging the phone using a wall charger. With the phone still connected to the charger press the power button to turn on the device.
In case the issue still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as it could already be water damaged.
S8+ Turned Off Not Turning Back On
Problem: My phone got switched off in max power saving mode i tried all options you have given in this article. Still my phone wont respond. Black screen with no lights on when i put it on charge even. It happened before also after using it in water and max power saving mode but after charging with a wireless charger it turned on. but this time nothing is working. any possible way to turn on the device.
Related Problem: My Samsung S8 will not start. I charged it last night and it was working fine. Before going to sleep I checked my whatsapp as usual then and fell asleep but when woke up in the morning the phone is completely dead, there is just a black screen. the phone wont turn on and gets hot when I charge it. I have tried all the hard reboot procedures with the buttons but nothing happens. I hope you guys can help me in sorting out this issue. thankyou
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the battery of your phone has sufficient charge. To do this you should clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once the port is free from dirt or debris connect it to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port. As soon as the battery has sufficient charge disconnect the charger then turn on the device by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S8+ Gets Stuck On AT&T Logo
Problem: I’ve had my Samsung S8 plus phone since last year. Yesterday I got some pop ups saying some apps stopped working. But after a restart of the phone, they seemed to work fine. Today I had some issues with some apps i.e. google maps and facebook messenger disappearing while I tried to restart my phone. It would turn on, but get stuck on the AT&T logo. I’ve tried soft restarting and just charging the phone, but it still won’t turn on.
Solution: If your phone gets stuck on its carrier logo then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix the problem. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to move on to the next step.
- Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the phone starts normally then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
