S8 Camera Stopped Working After Software Update
Problem: After the new update my camera stopped working. I have hard reset it. And tried everything you suggested. The camera says swipe to switch then a camera fail error comes up. I have only had this phone for two years. I am ready to buy new one and never recommend a Samsung phone to anyone.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset. Restart your phone once this is done then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the problem could be caused by a faulty camera assembly.
S8 Camera Flash Activates Randomly
Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung galaxy s8, I’ve recently sent it to Samsung after it become completely unresponsive. Since receiving it back I’ve set it up and begun using it however the camera flash has started to go off randomly, I did a quick Google search and have tried those quick fixes but nothing seems to work just wondering if you can help.
Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. This will eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a software glitch.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S8 Camera Is Black When Taking Photos
Problem: When trying to take a Photo the Camera is completely black. It wont allow me to take photos at all and seems that it freezes. I have tried downloading apps like Tiny scan for work purposes and still wont allow me to take a Photo. I am a sales rep and its a tool i use all day every day for work purposes. I don’t know of there was an app that was deleted somewhere along the line. I do not know what to put for Android Version. Apologies in advance
Related Problem: When I take photos some show up ok but then some have the left side grayed out. It’s just totally gray ad if you out a great loss of paper over half the screen. Also one it showed the whole pic but looked like one half was now vivid than the other. Something that is really odd is In the gallery it may show the photos clearly but then be grayed out when I click on one to open it.
Related Problem: My camera on Samsung Galaxy S8 shows a half blurred screen and half black when it’s on selfie mode. Why, how do I fix this? It was fine 2 days ago and today I can’t take a selfie at all as the screen shows as I described it above. Please help this is a 1 year old phone and idk why this is happening thank you
Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the problem still occurs. If it does then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
