Note 8 Gets Frozen On Boot Logo
Problem: Hello, my note 8 acts as if it were turning on but shortly after it shows Samsung galaxy note 4 powered by android screen it will go into a screen that shows a error that says normal boot failed message in top left corner and it shows the android icon and says downloading don’t turn off target if I let it sit there it will last as long as I let it or it will act as if it were booting normally and get frozen in the Samsung galaxy powered by android screen or it will act as if it were booting normally and when it gets to the Verizon screen ( my service provider) it will freeze and the light near the ear speaker will flash blue and cayenne blue how do I fix this
Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed) then do a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the problem still persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Check if the phone can start in Safe Mode. If the device turns on in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try starting the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device.
- Try doing a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 8 Keeps Restarting
Problem: My Galaxy Note 8 keeps restarting itself but won’t come on. I was able to get to the page where I can manually turn off or restart by pressing volume up and power buttons at the same time but it says “applying system update” then “no command” and then the restarting starts all over again. The LED light in the upper lefthand corner is solid blue. I’ve cleared the cache. Any other suggestions ? I do not know my current operating system because I can’t get into my phone but whatever the latest update was I installed it when asked.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. Once the reset is completed restart the phone. In case the issue still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 8 Overheats Quickly
Problem: I have a Note 8. Starting from around the beginning of 2018, the phone would overheat really quickly, even though no apps except the one I’m using (browser or google maps) is running (I confirmed it using the built in active application function). In addition to overheating, the battery itself drains very quickly even on power saving mode, and at first started shutting down at around 40 to 50% but now it shuts down at 60 to 70% even when just browsing photos. I suspect the problem is a faulty battery though I’d like to make sure before buying a new one. Also, is there a way to know if the fault was in the phone itself not the battery? I also tried recalibrating but it didn’t do anything. Thank you in advance
Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this you need to start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the same issue still occurs. If it does then the phone most likely needs to have its battery replaced. You should bring this to a service center and have it checked.
Note 8 Keeps On Making Charging Sound
Problem: I just bought my Note 8 and all works well but there’s this weird thing. Whenever I put it on charge and it gets to like 51% it starts to make weird charging sounds. Sounds you hear when you’ve just connected your charger. It keeps making these sounds every 5 mins till it gets to 100%
Solution: This issue usually occurs when the phone detects the charging cord being disconnected then connected again. To fix this problem try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
