The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a premium phone released last year which is the first flagship phone of the South Korean company that uses the new design where the physical home button has been completely removed. This allows the phone to have a large 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display that occupies most of the front portion of the device. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 835 processor which when combined with its 4GB of RAM allows the phone to run any app smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 screen goes black when disconnected from charger issue and other related problems.

S8 Screen Goes Black When Disconnected From Charger
Problem: I am using an S8 phone with oreo 8.1 My issue is that whenever I take my phone out of charge it randomly starts to shaden the screen to black. Basically my screen goes black but still stays open for a little while and then it closes and says that I have no battery even though I was at 90% before it closed. This started happening mostly while using snapchat so I cleared most of the phones cache and leftover data giving it some space but still the same issue happens all the time. It’s very frustrating and I’ve read another thread on the internet where is says that this is basically a serious problem. Is there anyway I can fix it?
Solution: If this problem occurs when using Snapchat then try uninstalling this app as this might be causing the problem. In case the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the same issue occurs in this mode. In case is doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Will Not Turn On
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S8 won’t turn on. I’ve tried everything from pushing the buttons down and getting to download mode and trying to download things that will supposedly turn my phone back on to Using Dr.fone and that did absolutely nothing. It happened out of nowhere, I went to reach for my phone one time and I was going to plug it and it died and wouldnt start back up. The samsung galaxy S8 powered by android screen came up and the charging logo with the bar never getting and fuller than empty only showed up. Please get back to me asap if you can help
Related Problem: Hi, I’ve had my samsung galaxy S8 for about as long as they have been out and a couple months ago it just stopped working. I’ve tried Dr.fone and that did absolutely nothing for me. the phone is responsive as in it will turn on to the “Samsung Galaxy S6, Powered by Android” screen or the charging symbol with the bar never filling up and ive tried all the button pushing there is to do and nothing seems to work. idk if I have no way of ever getting into it or not.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
When the battery has sufficient charge disconnect the charger. Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed then do a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the issue persists then try starting the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Will Only Charge If It Is Off
Problem: My Samsung galaxy s8 will not charge unless the phone is switched off. Even this takes hours to do so, my fast charger isn’t charging very fast anymore. If the phone is switched on whilst charging, either the battery will sit at the same percentage or the percentage will go down.
Solution: You should try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the power IC. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
