Huawei P9 Screen Is Flickering

Problem: I am not able to conveniently use my Huawei p9 because of unwanted flickering…it just goes crazy and at times it is out of control…different pages come up in between making it harder…As suggested I have done rebooting which turned out to be of no use…please help me solve this situation..

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you have to start the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the screen still flickers in this mode. In case it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then the next step is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. You will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty display assembly.

Huawei P9 Screen Is Black After Drop But Notifications Are Still Working

Problem: Hi,  I have a  Huawei P9 . I don’t know what version of Android OS I am running.  I do know that it just recently updated the OS. so… I dropped my phone.  When I picked it up the screen was black. It seems like all the other functions of the phone work.  I.E. it charges, The LED light at the top blinks when I press the home button or the side power button,  it still makes notification beeps etc. after I did a reboot by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.  But… the screen is still black.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch. You will need to do a factory reset in this mode to fix the problem. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the display remains black even when starting the phone in recovery mode then it’s very likely that the display assembly has been damaged by the drop. You will need to have this display replaced at a service center.

Huawei P9 Auto Rotate Not Working

Problem: My P9 auto rotate does not work. I realised that it may be the cause of the software update recently. If possible can you provide me with a step by step instructions as to solve this issue? (Noticed you mention to remove cache partition and factory restart. How do I go about doing it?) Thank you.

Solution: The first thing that you should od in this case is to try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

  • Turn off the phone
  • Press and Hold the Volume Up + Power buttons at the same time. When the Huawei P9 Logo appears on the screen, release the power button only, but keep holding down the volume up key until you see the recovery mode.
  • Select Wipe Cache Partition using the volume down key and select it using the power key.
  • Restart the phone.

If the issue still persists then check if it occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode.

  • Shut Down your phone
  • Turn the phone on and when the logo comes up, press and hold volume down key until it completely boots up to Safe Mode. If you see at the bottom left corner, you will see safe mode.

If the issue does not occur in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Huawei P9 Has Black Patches

Problem: I have a Huawei P9. Yesterday as i turned it on after charging, one side of the screen has black patches. I can not enter my password as half of the keyboard is covered by these black patches and the keys with the black patches are unresponsive. When my phone rings im able to answer the call but i cannot pass through the security password meaning i cannot use the phone to o anything other that receiving calls. The phone seems to be functioning okay apart from the black patches and not being able to access into my phone. I have tried resetting several times with no change. How can i fix this problem?

Solution: Unfortunately this appears to be a hardware related problem already which can only be fixed with a display replacement.
