S8 Not Charging After Software Update

Problem: Hi, since I made an update on my phone I have a battery not charging problem. It didn’t charge at all even though it was plugged in. It was drained to zero and I tried all the methods suggested until wiping cache worked. Now 6 weeks later I have the same problem and this time none of the options worked. Also every time I start the phone there’s a process isn’t responding message with an option of wait or close. I tried both options and it doesn’t affect my usability. Now my phone is switched off with 45% left but I don’t want to risk losing the battery until I find a fix. Can I back it up if there’s no battery?

Solution: you won’t be able to backup your phone data unless the phone is turned on which is why it is important to make sure that the phone charges. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. Do this when the phone is off and when the phone is on.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If you have a wireless charger then you can also try this to charge your phone.

Once the phone has sufficient charge turn it on then backup your phone data. As soon as your data has been backed up perform a factory reset on the phone then check if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Stuck On Samsung Logo Screen

Problem: Hi there! Hoping you can help me because I really don’t want to buy another phone lol. I have the S8 –  it has been a great phone, no problems. I was going to do a video and clamped my phone into the holder. I think it squeezed both the power button and volume button, then it went blank and went to the Samsung logo screen. I tried the instructions to soft reset it, then did the ones to take out the sd card, but the same thing happens every time I do a soft reset  and turn it on. Just the blue light on the upper left and the logo in white getting lighter and darker. I have no idea what I did but please help! Thank you

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now to fix the problem is to start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition. Onc this is down restart the phone hen check if the issue still occurs. If it does then start the phone again in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Does Not Unlock

Problem: I did the update 2 days ago on my samsung galaxy S8 and today i was charging it, when i tried to unlock my phone it didn’t work and there was still the red LED and when i put it on my wireless charger it showed that the battery was full. (I have already tried to charge it with a pc, different charger and wire, cleaning the charging port and hold the power and volume down button)

Solution: If doing a soft reset does not fix the problem then you should proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode then do the following.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S8 Restarts Then Freezes

Problem: my Samsung note 8 restarts, freezes or turns off by itself i tried rebooting it in recovery mode, i wiped the cache by still continued then i tried wiping the data/factory reset but still continued the same. it won’t even get past where it requires you to enter the email address that i signed in with the device

Solution: If doing a factory reset does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Turns Off When Wi-Fi Is Off

Problem: I have the Galaxy S8,  The WI-FI has always seemed to conflict with the mobile data when trying to use the internet so I like to shut off the WIFI and then the Chrome pages instantly load and stop dragging.  Recently it starting just completely shutting the whole phone off and rebooting itself if I shut the WIFI off, its crazy! HELP! Oh and when the phone come back on the WIFI is back on.

Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to check if it is caused by an app you downloaded. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should try to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. After the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs If it still does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
