S9+ Does Not Completely Charge When Using Wireless Charger
Problem: Greetings Since the latest software update I’ve been having issues with my battery status level displayed. When the phone is on and charging wirelessly or via usb the battery level does not go above 77% Now if I turn the phone off and charge it via usb the battery level will charge to 100% but when I turn my phone back on it displays a level in the 70s. I tried the cache clear out on one of you trouble shooting links and have done a soft and even a full reboot a few times. Im wondering if the issue is the battery
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to eliminate the possibility of this issue being caused by a software glitch. Since you have already tried doing a soft reset on the device then I suggest that you consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs.
In case it does then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try using a different charging cord to charge the phone.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then check if the issue still occurs.
- Try using a different wireless charger.
- Check if the issue occurs when using a wall charger.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9+ Charging Port Is Loose
Problem: the plug for charging has never felt snug and tight, and instead, feels loose. I am having a problem charging the unit because the charging cable doesn’t ‘connect’. Used to, I could fiddle around with it gently and at some point, the charging symbol would light up. No longer. I’ve tried different cables
Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already. If you have already tried using different charging cords and the issue still occurs then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that the charging port of the phone will need to be replaced.
S9+ Screen Goes Black When Connected To Charger
Problem: I need urgent help please! i am having annoying issue with my S9+ AT&T, whenever i connect charger to my phone it is showing a complete black screen with a sign “x” at bottom left or right side of the screen, then i have to restart it by pressing volume and power button simultaneously, i’ve tried around 6 to 7 charger but some problem exists, and if i charge my device after shutting down my phone colour bit changes and stop charging after 5 seconds, i am fed up of this now i have not used my phone for a week now, please help me to solve this issue, i’ve searched it on google but never get any satisfying solution, please get this issue resolved.
Solution: To fix this issue try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port gets removed. Once this is done try connecting your phone to a wall charger then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the issue persists then the next step is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. For this you will need to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S9+ Gets Hot Battery Drains Rapidly
Problem: My Samsung S9+ which I had for approximately 1 month started getting super hot and draining rapidly. I sent it to Samsung and was told that the board needed replacement . They also recommended that I close out apps to keep it from overheating in the future. After this experience I never want another Samsung.
Solution: It’s unfortunate that the board of your phone needs to be replaced. This does not usually happen on this particular model. Since this phone is most likely still under warranty then I suggest that you have the board replaced or just get a replacement unit.
