S8 With Cracked Screen Not Turning On

Problem: My husband has both and Otterbox and liquid screen protector on his S8 yet he dropped it and the screen broke. He’s been using it about a week and suddenly after he sent me a text last night, the phone went black, refuses to charge and won’t turn on. Any suggestions aside from the power and volume button?

Solution: It’s very likely that this is already a hardware related problem possibly connected with the broken display. To eliminate any other factors that can be causing this problem you can try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You can also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the phone remains unresponsive then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Moisture Detected Error After Getting Wet

Problem: Hello, I took my S8 to the beach, it didn’t get submerged in water but did get a few small drops of water on it. Very very slight. The battery died and when I tried to charge it the “water error” message appears. It’s been over 24 hours now. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Solution: Because the phone got wet the first thing that you will need to do is to make sure that the charging port is dry. Use a mini vacuum or a hair dryer to remove any moisture present in the port. Once the port is dry the error message should disappear and you will be able to charge the phone.

If the issue persists then there’s a possibility that this could be caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then follow the steps listed below.

  • Do a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S8 got submerged in Powerade Zero and now will not turn on, charge or anything.  We put it in rice for 3 days, charge the phone then did a soft reset. It looked dry but still will not do anything.  I have gotten a new phone but want to know if there is anyway to get my pics, contacts and anything else off my old phone and onto my new one?  I will try just about anything! Please help!

Solution: The only way you will be able to retrieve any data stored in this phone is if it is able to turn on. Since the device is most likely water damaged already the best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Only Charges When Cord Is Positioned At A Certain Angle

Problem: Hello, my phone  seems to not charge properly because I have to charge it at a certain angle. It is not the chargers problem but the phone due to the fact that I tried using other chargers. Also the battery percentage on my screen seems to be bugged. For example, the numbers not changing, numbers are decreasing, and even increasing by 10 percent when it is not even charging. I hope that you may have a solution for my problem. Thank you in advance.

Solution: For this particular problem you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone then use a different charging cord to charge the device. If the issue still persists then the problem could be caused by a faulty phone charging port. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

S8 Randomly Restarts

Problem: Phone randomly restarts and then gets stuck in boot menu. Headphone jack randomly won’t work but will after restart. Phone gets extremely hot charging only sometimes. Regular calling won’t work like it is connected to a Bluetooth device shortly after boot when Bluetooth and Bluetooth scanning are off. Tried everything down to a factory reset several times and running with no installed apps still has the same issue.

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still persists even without any apps installed in the phone yet then this is already caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
