The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is one of the best flagship phones to hit the market last year. It sports a different design structure from its predecessor as it now no longer has a physical home button. This allows the 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display to occupy most of the front part of the phone. This is a device capable of handling the most demanding tasks thanks to its Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 not turning on after recent software update issue and other related problems.
S8 Not Turning On After Recent Software Update
Problem: I got my S8 in November 2017. Have had no issues with it until the other day when traveling in an extremely rural area. My phone rebooted itself, but nothing ever came back up on reboot. The blue LED light stayed lit up and I thought maybe I just needed to turn it off again and restart. But it wouldn’t let me turn it off. After several attempts to even turn the phone off, I grabbed my husband’s phone because I had no idea how to hard reset. Well, when I did that, and did all of the options other than factory reset, the Samsung logo would just partially flash on the screen and still, nothing would happen. When we arrived at our destination, we went to a Verizon and we were told to take it over to the Samsung customer service in Best Buy. Did that and that guy there said the recent update was damaging motherboards/hardware. so to just let it die and use my insurance to replace it. Well, we didn’t need to do insurance because it was a hardware malfunction and Verizon sent me a free refurbished one. But, my question is, on a phone that literally will not start up, even in safe mode, or even to wipe the cache partition, it there any way to recover my photos? I have avoided factory reset, but I’m also worried it won’t even do that. I have to send the damaged one back to Verizon and I’m just making a last ditch effort before I do. Thanks in advance!
Related Problem: after attempting to install the newest software update on my samsung galaxy s8 it shows the startup screen and turns off vibrates twice, turns on again, shuts off then repeats. if i press the power, volume up, and bixby keys at the same time the installing system updates screen comes on but after a few seconds it says error
Solution: Several other people who have experienced this same issue which occurred right after the latest software update. Some owners of this phone were able to fix the problem by doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Since this will delete your phone data you should try wiping the cache partition of the phone first from the recovery mode. You won’t lose any of your phone data when you do this. Once this is done restart the phone and if it turns on then you will be able to recover your phone data.
S8 Sensors Not Working After Software Update
Problem: After installing April security patch on my galaxy s8, all the sensors stopped working. I waited and installed may security patch and now the june patch. Still the sensors are not working. I found many others with the same problem. My phone working smoothly. The sensors are not working and everything that requires sensors are also not working. Fingerprint scanner is working though. Problems started after installing the update for everyone i talked to. Some suggest me to reinstall the software. Some said it is a hardware problem (motherboard issue or the sensors are fried). My phone is brand new and it was working perfectly till i updated it. What do you think is the problem?
Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch that occurred right after the update. You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Bootloop Issue Even After Factory Reset
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 which is stuck on the Samsung logo screen on a loop. I have cleared the cache which did not work then resorted to restoring it to factory settings but the screen is still stuck on the Samsung logo loop after the reset. Can anything be done?
Solution: If the problem occurs even after doing a factory reset then this is most likely a hardware related problem already caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
