The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship phone released last year that offers a new design approach to the way the South Korean company makes their premium devices. The physical home button is no longer present making the 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display occupy most of the front portion of the phone. This device can run anything with ease thanks to the Snapdragon 835 processor that it uses. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 gets warm when charging issue and other related problems.
S8 Gets When When Charging
Problem: Hi there, I’ve got this problem with my S8: I put it on charge using the fast charger like I have done for the past year and left it alone for about an hour. I came back to get it and it was scorching hot and wouldn’t come on at all. After a few hours, I put it back on charge but after a minute and half it was hot again but while it was plugged in the red light to show its charging wasn’t on. Can you give me any pointers to fix this please? Thanks
Solution: It already looks like the problem is caused by a faulty battery. You can however check if the charger that you are using is causing this problem by using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. I recommend that you clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air before charging it. If the issue still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked since the battery will most likely need to be replaced.
S8 Not Turning On After Charging
Problem: Hi, I charged my Galaxy S8 with a third party USB cable. While charging it went dead, it was not charging, not even turned on. It is still not turning on. I tried all the troubleshooting that you guys are suggested, but it did not help. What should I do? Is it just a battery issue or motherboard issue. I can’t make decisions what need to do. Thanks.
Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If there is no charging indicator then try charging the phone from a computer USB port. Once the phone has sufficient charge turn it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S8 Not Turning On After Drop
Problem: Hi Phone suffered a drop off a table onto a hard floor. Rear glass shattered and screen is black. I get a red light when charging and when rebooted I get blue light for a bit then bottom two icons below screen nothing more. I have tried all combinations of hard and soft resets using combinations of all four buttons to no avail. As the rear glass had to come off anyway it has been carefully removed. After exposing the battery connector which I have removed, my plan is to reseat the screen connector and repower but is there anything else you can think of before I call it in as spares or repair ? Many thanks
Solution: There are a lot of possibilities that could have happened after your phone dropped. The two main concerns though are that the display has been damaged or the battery has developed a short circuit. Try reseating your phone connections and check if this fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then the problem is most likely caused by a damaged hardware component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Only Charges From Computer USB Port
Problem: My phone is not charging when connected to the adapter that came with the phone. The phone it self is not broken because i have connected it to my laptop with the same cable i use to charge with the adapter and the phone charges. So i was wondering if my fast charge adapter was broken.
Solution: For this issue you should first clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If it is still not charging then there’s a possibility that your phone has a faulty charging port assembly. To get this fixed you will need to have this checked at a service center.
