Note 5 Will Not Turn On Even If Battery Is Charged

Problem: Hi,  My Note 5 was purchased used last year. It recently would only charge to around 60% over night. I suspected the loose charge port so If I unplugged it from the wall and plugged it back in so as to NOT disturb the charge port, it would resume charging to 100%.  I tried this method again today and now it is completely dead and reset/button combinations are ineffective. I am a HIGHLY qualified electronics technician and have repaired iPhones and the like so I removed the battery and measured 3.9 volts on an apparently fully charged battery. I also cleaned a LOT of fuzz and dust from the charge port and it fits much better but it will still not turn on. I am NOT certain of my correct version and selected Nougat. ANY assistance would be GREATLY appreciated as I am afraid that I have lost valuable data. Thanks

Solution: If the battery of the phone has sufficient charge but the device will not turn on then it’s very likely that a component in the phone is faulty. One primary suspect that could be causing this problem is a busted power IC. You can try having this checked at a service center.

Note 5 Will Not Charge

Problem: Hello, My phone died from low battery and I plugged it in to charge, but it wouldn’t charge. So I tried to do a hard reset but that didn’t work either. The only thing I can see is a faint white line across the screen. I’m confused because I haven’t dropped it or spilled any liquids on it.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port gets removed. Once this is done try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If you don’t see the charging indicator then try charging the phone from a computer USB port. When the phone has sufficient charge try turning it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons. In case the phone still does not turn on then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Will Not Turn On Even If Battery Is Replaced

Problem: Hi My Note 5 won’t turn on it won’t even do anything when pushing power and volume together, the red battery light flashes red while on charge. I have tried having the battery replaced and still the same please help

Solution: If you have already tried replacing the battery of the phone and it still does not turn on then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is not working properly. To pinpoint the exact component you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Opening Random Website

Problem: We have a Note 5 , our device use to turn off then back on while listening to spotify, then on July 14 I opened the phone was open in a web browser. I was alarmed by the browser content and went into the history and found only 1 site that went back a month. It was on both the phone and my husband’s phone under his Google account. Is this through the phone possibly being hacked or through my husband being shady?

Solution: If the website was not intentionally opened then it could be opened by an app downloaded on the phone. To check if this is the case try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the same website will open. If it doesn’t then an app is causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
