Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #J7 fix the issues that they are experiencing with their phone. This model is a mid range device whose main strength is its 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display on a metal body. The phone runs apps smoothly thanks to its Exynos 7870 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy J7 warning camera failed error and other related problems.

Galaxy J7 Warning Camera Failed Error
Problem: Hello, I have been having a problem with my camera.I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 and neither camera (front or back) will work on command. The few times that I can get the front camera to work it is usually in the mornings (first thing after a full nights charge) or just in random times during the day with no clean pattern. There are days where I can send three snapchats in a row, and there are days where I can not take any at all. Sometimes the camera will work (on snapchat) but it has discoloration (mainly green and purple spots, I have saved pictures for examples). When I try to use the real camera it comes up with ‘Warning: Camera Failed.” If the rear facing camera does work it will not focus on anything, even after I tap on the object I am focusing on. I have cleared my camera app’s data and cache. That didn’t work. My smart stay has never been turned on. I did a safe mode reset, and that did nothing either. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help! You’re helping a poor college kid going into her senior year!
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to clear the cache and data of the camera app form the application manager.
- From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Applications.
- Tap Application manager.
- Tap Camera.
- Tap Storage.
- Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
- Tap Clear cache.
If the problem still occurs then try to start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
One last troubleshooting step that you can do is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet instead try to check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Galaxy J7 Camera Has Stopped Working
Problem: My phone has been acting crazy for a while. I have two main problems. My first problem just started after the latest update. The camera tells me “Camera has stopped working” even when the camera is closed and it shows no apps in use. This flashes on my screen about 50 times a day. It will not let me share or upload any of my photos or video (at first it was just the notifications that it was crashed and the actual camera closing, but then a few days ago, I discovered I could not upload video to anything or see the videos without going all around the main app. Then today, it decided to stop allowing me to upload photos to facebook, send them in messenger, or even text them to anyone). I tried to go into device maintenance to storage, but I get the same error there and the screen crashes “Device maintenance has stopped working”. I also have a hard time charging my phone. Only like 1 cord works and NO little portable chargers ever work even with the good cord. I have reported the issue a zillion times. The second problem has been going on randomly for months and months. When I am listening to music or an audiobook through headphones, the volume goes up and down randomly, apps open themselves up, pictures take themselves. My phone is possessed. It happens with multiple headphones. It happens in my pocket, in my hand, sitting on my desk at work. It seems to happen less with cordless headphones, but those are not always charged. The S voice app, camera, internet, phone, and weather are the most frequently randomly opened apps. I have manually shut down the S voice app and disabled it, and that helped a little with the random apps opening, but not with the volume poltergeist. I have tried to submit a bug report, but it will not open. I think I selected the version correctly.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the camera error still occurs. In case it does then proceed with the steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
For the second issue the factory reset that you performed might be able to fix the problem.
In case the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then you will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
