31 Replies to “How To Fix Samsung Galaxy S5 Loading Email Problem & Other Related Issues”

  1. Was not able to forward emails. When I tried, the message “Loading Messages” would not go away. After disabling Android Web View and clicking on restore to factory settings the forwarding feature works as it should. Thanks for taking the time to help.

  2. On my s5, was getting the “loading messages” infinitum when I tried to reply to both Outlook emails from work as well as emails on my old yahoo account. Tried disabling the android webview app first; no luck. Then I uninstalled updates on the same webview app and problem was gone.

“Samsung email app says”loading messages” when…”

Try going to: Settings –> Apps –> App Manager –> Android System Webview and DISABLE it.

  4. I have been doing this fix of disabling the Android System WeView app since mid December, I have had to do it every few days. Has anyone else had to keep doing it? Has anyone found a solution that is more permanent.

  5. + 1 for resetting Android System Webviewer to factory conditions.

Couldn’t get exchange emails to forward. Could create and could reply back, but couldn’t forward??? As soon as I forced it to stop and asked to go back to factory conditions I went back into email and was able to forward without having the loading message (which stood there forever).

  6. Hi, thank goodness for the fix, cheers. Everything is back to normal again.
(Go to settings- apps- app manager- android system webviewer. Hit disable which rolls it back to an earlier version)
I was currently having to back out of email, save to drafts & then send from the drafts page, each time I wanted to reply. Long-winded in a field-based job with lots of email traffic.

  7. Thank you very much. Restoring the Android Web Viewer to its factory setting also solved the frustrating ‘load messages’ problem on my work email on my Samsung S5 Phone.

Fixed in seconds, load messages comes up for a fraction of a second and it work perfectly now.

    Many thanks

  9. Restoring Android System Webviewer to the factory version on my Samsung S5 solved my problem too. Strangely I was able to receive and reply to corporate email in the mail app, unless it had an attachment. Then I was treated to the “Loading messages” pop-up.

  10. Special thanks to you all and Allan.

I tried: settings- apps- app manager- android system webviewer. Hit disable which rolls it back to an earlier version.

The “loading messages” prompt is gone and I’m back to action.

  11. I am also having the same problem with my email as discussed above. It works fine until I forward a message and then I get hung up in the loading spiral. I have not been successful following the recommendations of going into settings and forcing a stop, and clearing the cache. Mine is a Samsung Note 3 and it has been a good phone for a long time. This just started about 3 weeks ago.

  12. I have the same problem with the email. Reply gets stuck, forward works fine. Mine also started around Dec 15. If I reboot the phone, I can do 1 reply and the the rest I get stuck at loading….

  13. Thank you Allen, this resolved issue for me on my S5 with outlook365, was really vexing! You nailed it, nice!!

  17. Allen, part of the response on AS webview is ‘”your data will also be deleted”…will I lose contact’s, pic’s etc, if i disable

  18. A solution to the ‘loading email’ problem when trying to reply to an e-mail:

Go to settings- apps- app manager- android system webviewer. Hit disable which rolls it back to an earlier version. Seems to be forwarding or replying now on over ten tests all,

    Hope it works for you!!

  19. I am having exactly the same problem – ‘Loading messages’ appears when trying to reply to an e-mail. This started about 10 days ago – the ‘phone and e-mail has been faultless up to this date.
It only happens when replying to an e-mail, not when composing a new e-mail.
I have tried all the ‘solutions'(?) recommended above, with no result.

Anyone know why this is happening?

  20. May have just come up with at least a temp fix by searching similar issues. Went to settings- apps- app manager- android system webviewer. Hit disable which rolls it back to an earlier version. Seems to be forwarding or replying now on over ten tests

  21. Hey guys,

If you are getting the ‘loading messages’ prompt on a reply/forward, this may be due a bug where a recent reply/forward you have done has been ‘discarded’ instead of sent.

    Example:
    1. Force close the mail client (bring up the app list and swipe or X to close)
    2. Launch the mail client again and try reply or forward a message – it should perform the correct behaviour load this time.
    3. Instead of sending the reply or forwarding the message, hit ‘X’ to and confirm you want to discard it
    4. Now try reply or forward a message again and it will give you the “loading messages” issue.

As far as I can tell this may be due to a recent update to the mail client and it seems to be effecting exchange based mail – though could also be regular mail. Most of the comments above with this issue are recent so I’d assume it will be fixed in a future update. For now the best work around it to force close your mail app after you discard a reply/forward.

  22. Samsung email app says ”loading messages” when I try to reply to an email via phone. Email is a Microsoft exchange server. Starting happening a few days ago.

  28. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. It stopped syncing emails on the 19th. I went to the Verizon store. He quickly deleted my msn email account & told me to add it back. I put my log in information & for hours now it says “checking incoming server settings”.My Samsung tablet is the same. Is there anything else I can do to get my email back? All the sync buttons are on. Thanks
