Note 5 Will Not Charge When Using Wall Charger
Problem: Dear TDG team, I’ve had some issues with my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 for some time now. Despite my best efforts of identifying the problem I’ve had no success. I have the following issues: a) The phone will not charge when connected to a regular power outlet. However it will charge using the wireless charger or when connected to a PC b) A PC will not recognize the phone as a device when connected and hence permit no data transfer. I’ve tried using smart switch, several chargers, cables and PCs to no avail. Despite a factory reset and subsequent updates to the latest Android versions the issues persist. I hope you can help me.
Solution: It looks like this problem is caused by a faulty charging port. Try cleaning this port using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. Once the port is clean try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to to have the charging port replaced at a service center.
Note 5 Not Turning On
Problem: I have a Samsung Note 5 . Nothing happened to it one day it just went dead and it won’t charge. When I plug it into the charger it came with the battery symbol comes on with the lightning bolt but no green ever shows up at never ever charges it just stays on that screen. I tried holding down the power button and the down volume button for 7 Seconds it did restart it and the Samsung screen came on but then it freezes on that and doesn’t do anything. Obviously it doesn’t have a battery I can take out and I have pictures and contacts that I want to get from this phone to my new one I had a SIM card in it but I didn’t realize I had to go in and do something to back that up I thought it automatically would go on to that card. any suggestions please tell me there’s hope
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port. Once the battery has sufficient charge you should perform a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the issue still persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Charging Very Slow
Problem: My Samsung Note 5 charging is very slow, even sometimes it’s not charging up. in such situation when i switch off phone and then connect charger, its show caution sign and charging port also showing up on screen. I’m really worried about it as it’s hardly a year ago i have bought it
Solution: For this issue you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also make sure that the fast charging setting of your phone is activated.
- Go to Apps > Settings.
- Tap Search, and then search for and select Battery.
- Tap More Options.
- Tap Advanced settings.
- To turn on Fast cable charging, touch the slider.
Note 5 Fast Battery Drain
Problem: I have the Samsung Note 5 and my issue is Fast battery drainage. Bought a brand new battery and had it installed at a service center but still having the same issues. Phone works 100. Fast, no lagging or any other issues other than the battery. Sometimes it doesn’t even last 2-3 hrs. I close off all apps as soon as I’m done using them. Usually keep Bluetooth and GPS off when I’m not using an app that requires them but still. Also sometimes the phone will die when it’s on 40% sometimes even 60% battery life. I try the soft reset regularly .Any help will be awesome. Thanks in advance
Solution: Since you have already replaced the battery with a new one and assuming that the new battery does not have any issues then the problem is most likely caused by a software glitch. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
