J7 Ads Keep Appearing After Software Update

Problem: Good Afternoon. I am sending this email as a last resort to try and get my Samsung Galaxy J7 back to normal. I installed the latest Android Software Update and ever since I now have ads popping up uncontrollably on my phone blocking everything you do and which is proving to be very frustrating. When you click to close it you are immediately redirected to the webpage and then have to back out and close it again. I see the Facebook symbol and Publicis is on top of the screen and then in very small font the arrow & “ads by Google” I have tried everything from Ads Settings off, to installing Ad Blockers, Google Ad Personalisation Turn Off, Soft Factory Reset and now give up. I checked all my apps I had as I know I did not install any new ones and deleted all the ones from my phone and when I installed “Ad Detector” it picked up that Whatsapp & Music Player as the only 2 left with ads on them. Do I uninstall and reinstall Whatsapp and if I uninstall Music Player how will I get this back as it came out standard with my phone. I really do hope you can help, as I am going around in circles and do not want to mess up anything else on my phone from not doing the right thing.

Solution: It looks like you might have installed an app in your phone that is causing the ads to pop-up. The best thing that you can do right now to fix the problem is to find out what app this is and uninstall it. If you are unable to pinpoint the exact app then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

J7 Randomly Resets After Software Update

Problem: Hello Droidguy, I’ve been dealing with an issue on my phone after doing an update. The issue is apparently dealing with the firmware and I’ve tried many of multiple solutions from your website and some of my own to try to get things done, but to no luck. The phone constantly resets itself after almost a minute of being on. Everything that I’ve done does nothing to fix it besides flashing, which I have not tried to do yet. If you could assist me with this issue that would be wonderful.

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have one then try to remove it as this might be causing the problem. You should also consider doing a factory reset on your phone. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Locked Out Of Phone

Problem: I am locked out of my galaxy J7 and don’t remember my pattern. I have tried so many times to get back in that I now have to wait 128 minutes between attempts. I am not registered with Samsung. I’m trying to avoid FR and losing everything. I’ve read the phone is supposed to prompt me to put in my google credentials but I can’t seem to make that pop up. Any ideas? Also note I’ve changed my gmail password since after I set up the pattern on the phone but I’m hoping it will take my current password. Any hope here? Thanks

Solution: If you have recently changed your Google account password then you will need to wait for at least 72 hours before you can access the phone using the new password. This is a security measure which Google has in place to protect your phone.
