J3 Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi, my Galaxy J3 was in a waterproof case while I was in the pool. It got about a tablespoon of water in the case from the water. Probably was in this water no more than an hour if that long. It won’t turn on and won’t charge. I have had it in the bag of rice for two days and when I did try to charge it a picture of the battery charge icon came up also with a plug and wall outlet icon below it. I’m not sure what this means? Also, is there any hope of getting it fixed? I am desperate to retrieve some things off the phone also, any way of accomplishing that? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Solution: The best troubleshooting step that you can do whenever a phone gets wet is to wipe it dry then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture present inside the phone. Since you have already done this then it’s likely that the phone has suffered from water damage. A component or group of components might have shorted due to its contact with water. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J3 Switches Off Randomly
Problem: Please my phone has been given the following issues, it switches off randomly, sometimes when I try to put it on, it shows the robot with the message, “downloading…. Do not turn off” but that’s all it shows, nothing else happens ,sometimes it fails to charge and when it does, it runs down very quickly. It’s a galaxy J3 phone. Pls what can I do to get it working properly
Related Problem: I had a Galaxy J3 it all the sudden started shutting down on its own and cutting back on and shutting down and cutting back on and shutting down and coming back on it wouldn’t stop. So I do a factory reset then for about 3 or 4 days and it’s doing the same thing cutting off cutting on cutting off cutting on cutting off cutting on.
Solution: It’s likely that this issue is caused by some software glitch. The best thing that you can do right now is to remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed) then try a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Once the phone restarts try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the steps listed below.
- Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. if it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J3 Stuck In Bootloop
Problem: My phone is stuck in a bootloop it won’t turn on or off only thing i can do is let it die or charge it again and hard resets and soft resets don’t work if i try soft resetting it goes back to the same logo and i don’t wanna lose any photos but even trying to factory reset doesn’t work no matter what i press it stays on the same logo
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once the card is removed charge the phone first using its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. When the battery has sufficient charge perform the steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
- Check if you are able to start the phone in Safe Mode. If the phone starts in this mode then the problem is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. You can also backup your phone data while the phone is running in this mode.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
